Gotta think going from Wisco to OSU and experiencing what I can only imagine is a night and day culture shift for his last year of college wrestling does wonders for his mindset.

Iowa State fans mad that Surber continued to wrestle once their guy got injured. They cry so hard in every single sport.
197 - Surber with a medical forfeit win after a leg injury by the ISU wrestler.

He chose to wrestle. Surber is not going to quit because his opponent was hurt. He took advantage of it on a later TD. F em!
HWT - Hendrickson with a 16-0 TF in 3:30.

Was a little surprised they continued to send him out there. His knee looked like it buckled two times after the initial injury. Surber did exactly what you should do when someone shows an injury.
Love beating Iowa state in anything.
I believe he pissed Surber off with the bull rush after the injury that caused a stall on Surber. After that Surber was like, screw it, I'm about to kick your ***.
The second half of the dual was a lot more fun to watch. Amine got 3 takedowns, he should have gotten more but it was stunning at the end he didn't try to ride and gave an escape to lose the major. Hamiti chain wrestles and seems to always feel where him and his opponent's bodies are and moves the right place. Just flows to score lots of points and gets the tech fall. Plott wrestled okay and gets the major. Plott gets and go around off his opponents shot. I thought Plott should have had a couple of more takedowns, but you can't complain with a major over a strong opponent. Surber wins by medical forfeit but did not wrestle that good. He was 2 points ahead and Surber shot the other guys knee buckles, Surber got the takedown. Hendrickson gets a tech early in the 2nd period. Dominant. A victory but too many members of our team are struggling right now. Hendrickson, Hamiti and Plott are great, Surber, Amine, Fish and Spratley are good. Jamison is struggling, Witcraft or Hughes are okay and Young loses way too many matches. We might think about Witcraft at 133, Hughes at 141 and Jamison at 149.
Our transfers are saving our butt this year.
I have a feeling that DT will bring in more guys like Hamiti, Wyatt, and Amine next year and we will be fine.

A lot of the other guys will likely be recruited over.
I think DT is going to recruit his type of guys over the next few years and we’ll see a real difference in years 2/3 and beyond. Guys like Spratley, Hamiti, Plott, and Hendrickson who have no interest in wrestling 7 minutes and would rather break their opponent.
I agree. I'd be really surprised if we don't bring in multiple transfers next year. I doubt DT will stick with blood round type talent if he can upgrade via the portal. It's going to take a couple years of recruiting to fill out the team the way he wants it, until then the portal is our friend.
Taylor's goal is to challenge Penn State. To do that, he will have to recruit whatever elite talent that is available.
We are getting recruits like that next year. It may be a slow start of the year.

Well according to Wyatt and his interview on the Bader show he said he was still undecided when DT got the job. He talks about DT calling him and he had to tell him he wasn't gonna commit yet he wanted to make some other visits
Random tangent but what’s the deal with Bastida? I know he had an injury and was supposed to be back early in the season, and then I guess he hurt his knee and still has soreness? Is that a legit injury or is he suffering from a bout of Gable-itis as a HWT
Definitely Gable related. He will be the favorite next year
I think guys who were committed were able to ask for their NLI release once Smith announced he was retiring and I think also once DT was hired, so they technically had to be re-recruited.
