I think guys who were committed were able to ask for their NLI release once Smith announced he was retiring and I think also once DT was hired, so they technically had to be re-recruited.

That would've been true for HS kids for sure. Transfers don't sign NLIs

I'm sure DT closed the deal but do any think he would've gone to Michigan? He's a Newton, KS kid and UM wrestling is a joke this year. Also have my doubts regarding Mizzu.

Most of these athletes idolized DT when growing up. So when they get a call to wrestle for him most can't wait. The next 5 years of college wrestling will be interesting

I think DT will be a great recruiter, but no one on campus is his recruit save for maybe Amine. He was gifted a solid roster and a great structure to build within and I think he's doing a fine job. If nothing else, he gets credit for the rejuvenated excitement about the program that's led to some big home crowds. Let's see if he can get the guys peaking at the end of the season
