Tired of baseball announcers calling hits "knocks." They have been hits for over a hundred years dammit

Also tired of youngsters replying to "thank you" with "of course." Stick with "you're welcome" you twerps

Surprised this one didn't hit on the list yet -- 'mid'. As in, that player/coach/team is so 'mid'. Supposedly, it means mediocre or just middle of the pack. But it's used as a term of disrespect whether it be teams, foods, friends, whatever.

Calling a presentation of slides (PowerPoint) a deck. What is this, a cruise ship?

‘Deliverables’ used as a substitute for what you’re expected to do or complete.

An ‘opportunity’ or ‘challenge’. No. It’s a weakness or failure.

Now get off my lawn!!!

In the world of education, the vapid use of the unholy trinity: rigor, engagement, intentionality.

while i'm at it, people in long-form forums that use text chat like LOL or BRB or IIRC... stop being lazy.

I brief powerpoint slides for a living, to general officers. in the land of acronyms and abbreviations that is the US Military and government agencies, a deck refers to a deck of cards, of which each slide is a card. a presentation is a deck of slides (cards).

...... FYSA, getting off your lawn ATT

Can we ban a phrase? I am sick and tired of hearing every Gosh darn person in retail telling me to "Have a good one". What is that supposed to refer to? What is a "good one"? A good beer? A good pair of nuggs? what am I supposed to have? I would rather hear a clerk say, "Thank you and I hope you smash your nut sack when you shut your car door, oh and have a good one"......
It's very insincere

I've heard rumor they've started calling what are properly known as "balls hit in the air, in fair territory, that clear the outfield fence on the fly" something like "home runs."

Kids these days.
