Terrible job with the migration. Seems like majority of people haven't even made it over as there seems to be very little traffic / posts.
Do you really think this is going well?? This has been a **** show. Thankfully Richie is helping a lot but On3 has done a terrible job so far.
I joked with Richie on the Round Table that it was the one word thread that was slowing everything down. Surprisingly he mentioned that the RU forums had some of the largest data to bring over and that was causing a delay where other Rivals sites have already been done.
Took me several days to make it over, but I've been looking for the Yankees thread. Guess it hasn't made it over yet.
There are over five million posts making their way over, expected to be done within the next week.
The whole transfer over was just very bad. I spent a week with ON3 support just trying to get them to understand that I wanted my account of 20 years and not get a link to create a new one. And one of the most important things for me was to keep my conversations I have had with members over these years- some of them very cherished by me. They are all gone and I have not heard back if they are able to restore them. Did anyone else check their conversations to see if they transferred over?

As @Richie O said--there are 5 millions posts to port over. Maybe if some people were not such prolific thread extenders, we would be in better shape--that's a snarky joke.

5 million is not a large number of mostly text records. It’s more of a 10-15 minute exercise then a 1 week thing if done locally but pulling from one server to another over the web may be bottlenecked somewhere. I wouldn't expect a lot of data transformations to be needed between similar platform versions. My bet would be that it's not happening, especially since some accounts are getting recreated here manually. That tends to break database things, or require a lot more intervention. Even the premium forum only has 2 pages of topics. It feels like they took current premium usernames and some account data and said f it with the rest. Some of the treads and board history will be missed. The good news is that all old jokes are new jokes and any question can be asked again without getting yelled at for not searching first!
Preach brother! I've done migrations between wildly disparate platforms with far more complex data architectures and exponentially more data, and those have been done overnight or over a weekend.

I would guess, eventually if not sooner, you'll get everything back .
Lots of us "new" members hope we can be granted member status and the new will be old.
I'm wondering if classifications like HOF will be attached to our handles , instead of just being marked as a member.
Can you email a screenshot of the ad? If it’s covering content that is a glitch and can be fixed. However there are ads on the site at the bottom of the mobile version, that you can get rid of with the premium subscription of On3.
It’s happening very soon, they are doing this site by site from largest to smallest and the Rutgers site is on deck.
Also you have to understand, the Rutgers site alone is 5mill+ posts, other sites have 15m, 20m etc.

I finally found the “x” to close it out. But it does initially block the insert quote
I heard when it was about to transfer over, the Met fans yelled "Yankee go home" and made on3 leave it on the old site
Hey Richie - Just wondering, looks like we are missing about 3 weeks of posts in the older threads (from June 10th'ish to early July). Not a big deal but curious on if the transfer is still ongoing? Also a few old threads are still missing that I was looking for. Once again, not a big deal, just wanted to know if I should keep looking or be happy with what we have!
I'd be happy with what we have for now. As far as the three weeks missing, I'll ask about those. I think it would be better with no migration. One of the biggest problems with the old site was people using their post count to project seniority and/or act like they know more about RU football than everyone else. In reality a monkey could post 100,000 times on a message board; that doesn't mean its posts will make any sense.
also some trolls looked at post counts and made something out of a poster's passion for Rutgers and how they posted more than the casual fan.
So a troll will try to put them down .
I wonder is a poster that was banned on the old site was able to come to the on3 board under a new name ?

Maybe the first step to making this a better site is to stop calling people "trolls" because they have a different opinion and/or perspective. Also, the lion's share of posters here have new names. It's a fresh start and posters can do and say whatever they want as long as they're not breaking the rules.
