Got to keep this bumped up. Has anyone heard from him. I'm a little concerned. E-mailed him a few days ago and he hasn't responded. His wife has some health issues. That's why I'm concerned. OFC
I'm hoping for something uneventful. I get the concern.
Maybe he lost a bet to a UNC fan and must stay off DI for a week...
He seems like such a sweet guy and, in my opinion, is one of the foundations of this board. I hope everything is ok.
I know his wife has health issues, but if I remember right, he has been a little under the weather lately. I thought he said something about a Sinus infection, and believe me, it is very hard on a person, I am just getting over one.

I know about sinus infections, I had to have surgery 2 years ago. I had one for 6 months and couldn't shake it. Talk about misery! I hope he's okay.
I want to thank all you guys (and gal) for your concern. There are a number of things going on right now that I'm dealing with including the sinus issues. Besides taking care of my wife, I also take care of many animals (cats & dogs) that have been abandoned, etc...and during the last couple of weeks I've been taking care of some terminally ill ones...including one of my own pet cats that just died.
To make a long story short, between battling some health issues, and pretty much not getting any rest at all I'm exhausted. And for the first time in many years I didn't even watch the Duke games.
My daughters are coming to help me this weekend, and hopefully I can get a little rest. I'll be back posting a little more as quickly as I can.
The most important thing is that my wife is doing fairly well. Again, thank all of you for thinking of my wife, and me...it really means a lot...and I mean that with all my heart.
Sky, and Skee, please forgive me if I don't get around to answering your emails just yet. I promise I will.

Good to hear Dirt!! You're the man and will keep you, your family and pet family in my prayers!
I knew you were a special person for so many reasons but, I am a HUGE animal lover (I have 6 rescue dogs and 6 rescue cats) so you hit a special place in my heart when you talked about taking care of your many animals. Losing a pet is never easy, but I can't imagine life without them. Five of my dogs are Pet Partner therapy dogs and we do a lot of work with Special Olympic kids in our area and in North Carolina and I see how much love they bring to so many people. I hope you're able to get some rest and relief in the coming week and glad your wife is doing better.
And in my eyes Dirt is one of the most respected if not the most respected on the board.

I'm overwhelmed with all the people that have been worried about me (and my wife). I can't express in words how much that means to us. This board started out as an outlet for me, and a way to talk to talk about Duke...but it has become much more than that. Thank you for the incredible support.

I've taking care of 27 right now, and more than a few are quite sickly. I've got a cat that I had a tumor removed from on last Friday, and he was able to go outside today and roll around on the ground and soak up all this NC sunshine today. He's so happy...and that makes it all worthwhile.

I think we could be best friends. You have a huge heart. Very happy to hear about your cat. Sometimes the small things brings happiness.
