It's heritage, not hate, right?

I'm sure the lives of millions of minorities will be drastically improved as a result of this. These things are important!

said it before and I'll say it again......the sheer irony of those who complain about PC folks crying about everything are often the biggest crybabies in the room when their little toes are even threatened to be stepped on.

Sheet music from 1900 that was likely printed in the North? With an American flag flying?

You know, Lincoln loved the song. When does he come off Rushmore and the currency? He must have been a hateful bastard, right?

There are plenty of things to be ashamed of in this country. "Dixie"is not one of those things. God knows how many black people are enslaved right now to a welfare state that ruins them, and it's a 150 year old song that's the problem. This is the idiocy that prevails.

How dare African Americans be offended by a racist tune that glorifies a way of life predicated on slavery. Just who do they think they are?

I note that the same people that tell people not to get offended tend to be the same ones that lose their minds when someone burns a flag or wants to exercise a right not to say the Pledge of Allegiance. ;)

So....is it okay to be offended by "tunes" (if that's what you call them) that are "predicated" on murder, sexual abuse, wreaking havoc on society? Why not eliminate music altogether? Someone is bound to be offended by any song played. Heck, they couldn't play "Mary had a little lamb" at a game....muslims would be offended.

Thrilled this is finally happening.

Another step closer to making sure everyone is comfortable.

Dixie's Land- still trying to figure out how this song would offend anyone except maybe the gays since it says William was a 'gay deceiver'... ugh

chorus:

Oh, I wish I was in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie land I'll take my stand
To live and die in Dixie
Away, away, away down south in Dixie
Away, away, away down south in Dixie

verses:

Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

In Dixie land where I was born in
Early on one frosty mornin'
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

(chorus)

Old Missus marry Will, the weaver
William was a gay deceiver
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

But when he put his arm around her
He smiled as fierce as a forty pounder
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

(chorus)

His face was sharp as a butcher's cleaver
But that did not seem to grieve her
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

Old Missus acted the foolish part
And died for a man that broke her heart
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

(chorus)

Now here's a health to the next old Missus
And all the gals that want to kiss us
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land

But if you want to drive away sorrow
Come and hear this song tomorrow
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land
