I’m shocked he came out. He is using the we need all 9 guys. Can’t have them play out of their mind, but everyone must play well. He’s still trying to make excuses for his short bench. He really has 7 guys who can actually play. If anyone is hurt or having a poor night they are in trouble.

No, but they get to play Florida in Hooterville this weekend. We’ll see if the Hogs hang 106 on the Gators the way Kentucky did. My prediction: another loss for Calipari’s crew and 0-3 in the SEC.
I would not be surprised if they are 0-5 soon. Hard games coming up. If they don’t win home games they are really in trouble. We will lose game and so will most teams but I don’t miss watching his teams play with no shot to beat any decent teams. Keeps making excuses and hoping they can get it together. I’m so happy to not have to watch what he said at the end “they play like we do historically like my teams up 8 or 9, they grind it out.” Thank god we don’t have that anymore.

You still enjoy watching Arkansas play?
I don't think I ever said I was enjoying them play. This was the first game of theirs I've watched since the Michigan game I believe. I just think narratives should be accurate. As a team they are actually (or at least were before tonight) shooting a higher percentage from 3 than we were on the season.

Yes a couple of them are shooting better than expected however like all CCC teams they don’t shoot enough of them. You are one of the few left on here that always seems to defend Calipari and his antiquated ways so just asking.

I watched a rapid reaction show on YouTube from the Arkansas guys. The fans were sending in comments. It was hilarious listening to the same things we were saying the past few years!! Can defense a ball screen. Archaic outdated offense. No player movement. No adjustments by the coaching staff. They were crucifing his post game comments. One guy even said something to the affect!, this was what the Kentucky fans have been saying!! Priceless

Aidoo played the whole game and one or zero shot attempts. CCCreally utilizing his skills. 😆

In an alternate universe, where Cal stayed at UK, we are 9-6 and 0-2 in the SEC with a win against UofL as our best win.

Count your blessings BBN.
Your probably right.
I think I'd take a UK squad with Somto and JQ over the Arkansas team with Aidoo and Brazille.
JQ went for 9/11 against Kansas tonight where Aidoo and Brazille combined for 5/12.
UK probably has BJ Freeman no idea if Davis would have been at UK.
Bottom line none of the UK players or recruits really want to be playing for Arkansas.

Not sure about Freeman. If we assume Burks leaves, then maybe.

UK wouldn’t have given Cal the NIL money to get Davis.

I’d say Cal would have been content with what he was bringing in as Freshmen and his returning guys (assuming Burks returns).

G Fland/Perry
G Wagner/Richmond
G Knox/Burks
F Thiero/Ivisic
F Quaintance/Cyril

Of course, he would have a bunch of square pegs in round holes as usual. Perry doesn’t see the light of day.

66 points on 59 FG attempts. Very ugly stuff. Fland and Wagner were 9/33 FG% and 1/13 3PT%.
You know, Doojohn is really not very good at basketball. Bless his heart.
But he perfectly encompasses 🐄's guys.
They will play. That is that. He doesn't GAF!

Arkansas fans who come to this board can’t seem to grasp an obvious point:

This is very likely Cal’s BEST team at Arkansas. It includes players who had signed on to an elite program in Kentucky, the stars of a Kentucky recruiting class, and Arkansas holdovers. He’ll never have that mix again.

And this is very likely Pope’s WORST team at Kentucky —cobbled together beginning in mid-April without one player from last year’s team or any high-level recruit who stuck.

And still, Kentucky has wins over Duke, Gonzaga and Florida. All better than any win Arkansas has.

The directions of the two programs could not be more clear. And anyone who’d rather have Arkansas’s near-term future is a delusional idiot.

There were a couple on the forums saying I owe Kentucky fans an apology. Everything they said is coming true. Of course they have some hardcore defenders especially this one mod. They were like “I don’t even know a Kentucky fan or, Who cares what UK fans think.” I was getting a good laugh. It was almost like our board the last 5 years, but it’s only been 13 games or so.

Z sat the bench the whole first half. Came in, shot a three that rattled in and out from the corner, and Cal pulled him.
The biggest mistake that Big Z has ever made. Was when he chose to follow Calipari to Arkansas and pass up a chance to play in an offensive system & for a coach in Mark Pope that would have been perfect for his skill set. Who knows, Big Z might wise up & transfer back here. I would sure take him back.

Wagner isn’t going anywhere, he gets as many shots as he wants and plays major minutes. He’s going to hang with Cal for a couple more years.
I can see that for sure, but we all know about the guys who leave even though they can only get a summer league spot at best.

Knox is the one who will bail and it will probably be addition by subtraction.
Worst attitude on the team.
Should have followed in dad's footsteps and pursued a football career

The DJ issue with Cal at the end of the year will get interesting.

DJ is at the point where Cal typically has "the talk" with them and tells them it is time for them to leave.

Will he? Can he? Is DJ too close and Cal his family? Will Cal continue to dump a boatload of NIL money to DJ and let him play 35 minutes a game when even Cal is smart enough to see that DJ has topped out and is keeping Cal from moving on to his next "great" freshman point guard.

I really have no issue with Wagner, but if he sticks with Cal he will continue to stay the same. I really thought he should’ve gotten away from him after last year. Crazy to think we had years of hype of Wagner before he got to UK, only to see him middling around in Ark now.

Where could DJ go to get the amount of NIL money AND the number minutes that Cal is giving him??

Probably nowhere. I’m just thinking more on his actual development as a player. You’d think being from such a bball rich family they’d see it, but guess they will all go down on the ship together.

I understand he probably felt he owed Cal something but from a basketball perspective that was such a poor decision
