The Gators ranked as the SEC’s fourth-best team in sacks allowed, giving up an average of 2.39 per game. The rushing game struggled behind Summers’ offensive line, however, with Florida finishing as the SEC’s worst rushing offense (128.23 yards per game).

Not that he be any worse than the k man

Not only is Summers an excellent O-Line Coach, there is some great chemistry with BP.

I see running lanes and solid pockets to throw from coming soon.

Are you too young to remember when he was here before? We always had good line play.

You can have Knute Rockne as coach if the talent on the offensive line is garbage aint a dam thing Summers can do with it. Last I checked i aint seen any top O-line recruits signed.

Sucks for the Gators then.

All I know is the LOUISVILLE offensive line was bad as hell for all 4 years that Summers coached them.

I am frigging PUMPED that he is back!

I just glad we will have a OL that will have much less false starts and missed assignments.

Agreed. Being fundamentally sound IS being better. Coach Klenakis(sp) is about to be schooled on how to coach an ÖL. Maybe that's the reason CBP kept him around plus the guy is obviously a really good recruiter.

Not picking a fight here, but just to refresh my memory, when have we EVER signed any top rated OLs before Christian (4star IIRC)?

I do recall many 2, 3, and even walk on rated players going to the NFL.

But I don't remember any coach here getting top rated OLs.

And we have 3 BCS Bowl trophies and numerous top 20 rankings.

Coaching matters.

We will have a nasty, bad-***, knock-YOU-on-your-***, pancake-making, ***-whoopin, Offensive line!

Believe it!
That's what I remember too. Granted, we had some really good linemen then too, Foster, Quarterman, Bussey, Wood, Spitz and Leffew but those guys were also well coached.

Not only did those guy rarely miss assignments, they also exploded off the line on run plays and we're able to consistently get to second level of the defense. Radcliffe just missed out and Jeremy Smith might be a beast next year in this offense if he holds on to the ball.

For a Summers reference, watch the replay of the UK game in 2006. That UK team won a bowl game that year too.

I'm stoked. The OP can whine all he wants. Summers has a proven track record and history with BP. I have no doubts that the OL will be vastly improved from here out.
I know for a fact we have the right guy in the right coaching position, and on top of that we have klanakis in the fold as well.

we will not have our line to complain about next season.

we are now solid on our offensive line.

I hear yall same lame o-line players

The problem with guys like this is that they lack honor and integrity. When mid-to-late season rolls around and the OLine is dramatically improved and more disciplined, he will find some reason he wasn't wrong instead of taking responsibility for his error. We found new players, we are playing less competition, blah blah blah.

He will disappear like a fart in the wind.

We have every key piece to chase a championship.

Summers is one of the great offensive line technicians in the business. The one complaint I have is he doesn't enjoy the recruiting side of the business. Great guy, great coach but you have to have some horses to compete with the teams UL faces week in and week out. Hope it works out well for him one of the good guys in the business.

The previous OL coach does the heavy lifting on recruiting, and he's bought in several 4 star lineman and DBs. Louisville is set to have their highest ranked recruiting clas ever.
Cards will have the horses.

Yes, lots of talent apparently coming in, but let's keep expectations real. They'll be Freshmen. Gonna need some experience first. Don't expect a Bama like line coming out of the gate. The future looks great, but there has to be some time allowed for experience, maturity and chemistry to grow.

Lamar didn't look like a heisman winner early and middle of his freshman season. Takes time.

Klenakis has yeilded a great class. Summers can coach them up with the help of klenakis.

Our line will be its best in the petrino era. And we will be a dynamic team.

Many sets, power football and using running backs to open the field up with the pass.
