I like it but if you think his message is hard or offensive try Tom MacDonald and Adam Calhoun "Your America" or Struggle Jennings "Cries of the crusaders". These guys been at it a few years and being independent they don't have a record label dictating what they can/can't say. MacDonalds "fake woke" is a classic. lol

Can't sing huh
Seems you're a little triggered ha ha. Guy is blowing up. Just check YouTube. Folks all over loving this song.
Right place, right time.
Just a guy taking advantage of the "Let's go Brandon" crowd.
Not triggered at all but the assumption that OA> Tyler is crazy..
OA himself is a a Tyler fan, just seen a vid of OA covering "Charleston Girl".

Ha....definitely got you triggered. Nothing he said was a lie.

Song hit a lot folks because it's true. Don't care one iota about the Tyler stuff.

Why do you listen to music in the first place?
He's not good no matter the lyrical content, which in this case is super simplictic.
You could just listen to Clay Travis everyday if you were just a fan of the rhetoric.

Why are you so upset that he is about to top the billboard chart but not that so many people love garbage like Taylor swift or Harry styles? Because you have let politics dictate your every thought.

I didn't start the thread.
The OP's title was OA>TC.
If he would have left Tyler out of it and just made the thread about OA, I wouldn't have had anything negative to say.

OP saying he thinks he is better wouldnt bring out your negative comments unless you are emotionally invested

I'm a huge Tyler fan.
With OA, it seems more about the politics than the music.
He'll get a lot of support just because he recorded a song like that regardless of it's musical quality.
I guess to some that isn't the point.

Good song, true lyrics.......still like Tyler better and think he is far more talented....but this dude has something to say and making some pretty good music as well

I hate f$$$ing politics. Destroying everything all this infighting ********....I'm just happy I found another good musician to listen to and that these awesome independent artists who aren't in fake country radio are blowing up. The more of this dude, Tyler and Zack Bryan, the better.

OA's voice and delivery reminds me a little of Levon Helm... wonder if he was an influence?

About 15 or 16 million views. Seems a lot of folks are liking it and watching it.

Your liitle pathetic rant is why this song is reaching folks.

When you write a song and it get this kind of response you can talk. Until then, you sound like a crying kid.

Seen lots of folks having great reactions to it.

The guy has more than just that song and most all are at least pretty good. None with quite the same angle, but similar in the struggle is for the poor to move from surviving to thriving.

In terms of the politics, he clearly mentions both parties being at fault and it's clearly a message against big machine politics as a whole. No wonder it resonates with so many

FTR, I was being sort of facetious with my thread title. Obvs OA has a LONG way to go to even be mentioned in the same breath as TC. I personally like both quite a bit, Tyler’s early stuff will never be touched.

“Well any old dog is a friend of mine,
And a good hearted woman is hard to find”

“Well I ain’t got a dollar, but I don’t need a dime.
I’ve got a little spot in the country where I spend all my time.”

He just speaks the truth, nothing more.

********. This dude is a f'n liar. All those lyrics are lies.

“Well any old dog is a friend of mine,

Total lie. I read in Star Magazine that he hates pit bulls.

"And a good hearted woman is hard to find”

Is it? I think a majority of women are either good hearted or at least fair to good-ish range. Has this f'n idiot done any studies on the subject? I doubt it. I heard he spends his free time writing Renaissance-era erotica FYI.

“Well I ain’t got a dollar, but I don’t need a dime.

Oh Sarasota sassafras. He has several dollars.

I’ve got a little spot in the country where I spend all my time.”

Heard his property is 500 acres and this little soy boy bidge even has indoor plumbing. LOL what a hippocrit.

Personally, I've never been into saying the world's gone to ****. It's something that every generation says and we've heard the phrase for decades. It also can't help mentally to walk around with that attitude. Problems in the world and in our country will always exist no matter what we do. That's life and life has its problems.

As far as the artist goes, I hope he has incredible success as he seems authentic and we could use more of that in the world, particularly in country music. Anyone who "comes after" the guy is an agenda-driven idiot bored with their own life. Friend of mine is convinced the industry is going to ruin him, like try to change his sound or whatever. Hope that doesn't happen and he stays genuine.
Every generation says the world is going to hell. My dad told me in in 1948 that my generation would be the end of the free world. The funny thing about older people bitching about the younger generation ruining everything, is that all older people talk about how everyone should discipline kids like they do (no one spanks their kids anymore, but I do). So every generation that bitches about the younger generation raised the generation they ***** about.

Not reading thread, just scrolled all the way down.

Reply and let me know, nightwish rushed in as quick as possible...these are his type of threads.

Domt know this guy's music, all I know, like movies about pedophilia, it has the press and certain individuals triggered for some reason bc they need conflict and they've went through the the usual paces

If your true emotions are you blame other people for your problems I probably don’t want to listen to you cry about it even if it is a nice sounding song. Buck up.
So the government has no impact on your life? To blame or if even pay attention to the government is crying in your book? Your faux tough guy thing is really lame imo.

The impact the government has is always the same. The amount of freak out varies from side to side depending on who is in charge. Because you are manipulated by people who want power and your money. You insult what I said because you are sucked into that BS. If some jackass with a banjo wrote the analogue to this during Trump do you have the same position? Doubt it. And my tough guy act is real. Balls of steel and all that. What’s it like to be an emo conservative?

The code of federal regulations proves this absolutely false. Over the past few decades, the number of state regulations increased at an insane rate. That doesn't even consider the insane number of statutes passed.

More people know Oliver’s name from ONE SONG than Childers will ever be known…even as he tried to pander to the degenerate culture with the gay coal miner song lol.
Childers is selling out everything and there's not a cheap seat in sight. Rupp Arena sold out in 25 minutes. Radio City Music Hall and Red Rocks in 30 minutes. People know Oliver's name because the people more concerned about the "minors on an island somewhere" have decided this is their anthem now. It's a good song, and if you take it that he's hating both sides of the aisle than you're actually seeing his point. I also suggest you look up the interview Tyler Childers did regarding the "gay coal miner song". It explains why the video was done the way it was and as someone from a small town with a very similar situation to Tyler's I felt like he showed how small towns operate better than Jason Aldean did.

How many #1 has Tyler had? This coming from someone with 10+ Childers song on regular rotation. If going by pure name recognition wouldn’t having a #1 > selling out rupp?

I couldn't agree more and while you are at it throw Cody Jinks in there. I went and saw Cody a couple of months ago and he was great.

Define #1.
It not Billboard #1.
I don't know how you even categorize the song.
It's more a novelty than anything else.
People don't like it for the sound, they like it for the politics.
It's the new "Let's go Brandon"

The thread about a dude and his song that has zero to do with Tyler Childers is now a thread to debate who is the bigger name. And some of you legit think this Oliver guy is 😂
uh huh. so what’s the title for this thread you’re talking about
