people cry "probation" like we have a program that could be destroyed by it...
Mumme years were a blast...bowl games, beat bama, high octane offense, #1 draft pick...then we got our *** busted and had to go back to being Kentucky football...
I'll gladly pay the probation price and take a few years off if that's the price for a few years on...beats being off all the time...
and if you haven't noticed the NCAA is losing legitimacy by the day...programs are doing what they want when they want and the NCAA doesn't give a hoot...too much money being made these days...
yeah NCAA will deal out slap on the wrists here and there, but for the most part they are not looking to shut people down anymore...it's really not good for business to sideline USC, UL, UNC, Uconn, Syracuse, Miami, and just about all other P5 money makers including UK...
hell it's getting to the point where they allow universities to punish themselves...presidents and ADs can be council, judge, jury, and executioner on their own little investigative committees...

Dang.... I respect the people's feelings that didn't want Petrino but I wasn't one of them. I wanted Barnhart to hire him. I didn't know his dad called Barnhart
Petrino is going to beat our *** so bad this year. I think he'll pull a Spurrier and run up the score. Remember the 70-7 Florida game.
It's sickening to think of what could've been with Calipari having our basketball team rolling and Petrino having us being a top-25 caliber football team. We could've done some damage in an SEC East that's been wide open the past few years. Thank you Mitch. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you sleep well at night with your holier than thou attitude while our loyal football fans suffer. You should go and refund the money to every single one of the people that drove hours upon hours to go watch that game today. While you're at it get down on your knees and beg them for forgiveness.

Actually that's a first for me. I've never heard that. I'm not really sure why Cal wouldn't want Petrino here. I feel like it's more on Mormon Mitch. Cal seems to be pretty supportive of the FB program.

Probably just a bs rumor. But I do remember at the time the word going around was that Cal and the basketball powers didn't want Petrino here. I dont know if it's because of the name Petrino had. Or if it's because like I believe, they don't want football to be successful.
That's not the first time he's told that story. He seems to wear it as a badge of honor.
Barney's refusal to hire Bobby Petrino will be his lasting legacy. It was the one chance to change UK football and Barney punted. He did the same thing with Cal, initially. It was only after others in the UK community intervened to get him to hire Cal when he got the second chance. Someone needs to intervene now.
