My neighbor a Card fan who comes over to the garage to hang out from time to time was saying that a QB/Athlete wanted to transfer to Ky but when Bobby found out where hr wanted to go put a stop to it ? Is any of this true has anyone heard of this. If so how can they stop you after you leave the school ?

Not sure who it is. If Petrino signed the release papers already though, and Kentucky was not included on the list of schools that the player was not allowed to transfer to when those papers were signed, then it don't really matter what Petrino wants at that point.
If the transfer papers were not signed though, and this came up, I'd fully expect Petrino to make sure that none of his players transfer to UK.

I can't tell you if it's true or not though. Haven't heard anything about that, and I doubt that it happens.

When it was the other way around it made a difference, the media was all over it if they wanted to transfer from UK to UL. Marvin Stone ring a bell.

Isn't this about Kyle Brolin - former Lexington Catholic QB who led the cards to victory over UK as a freshmen 3 rd stringer two years ago?

Go Big Blue!

I don't know if they did or not, but I think you can block a transfer to a team in your conference or to one you play.

On the other hand hadn't heard anything about a Transfer U play transferring, but I certainly see why some would want to, or would even want to decommitt.

There could be several like the #1 RB commit to TU a few years ago, that transferred out because he said he just didn't fit in with that crowd.

I know I wouldn't want to play with the kind of transfers and criminals UL is scouring the prison release and parole lists for, LOL.

Gardner and Ferguson transferred. Neither needed Bobby's approval, to my knowledge, as I think they were both grad transfers. Neither were probably wanted. But, never heard they considered UK. This rumor is new to me.

Wouldn't classify Bolin as a QB/athlete. Bonnafon fits the description.

Why are you replying to your own posts?

Because with the new system I sometimes try to edit a post and it ends up replying to that post, not sure how that happens but not that big a deal to me, sorry if it offended you.

Most football transfers occur at the end of the spring semester, the exceptions usually being guys that know exactly where they are going at mid year (you don't want to "lose" a semester's worth of academic credits by simply sitting out the spring). While there has been considerable fan speculation about QB Bolin transferring (gets degree this spring I believe), UK has never been mentioned as a possible landing spot. If he does transfer, I would guess UK is unlikely destination but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Regardless, he would be a so called "graduate transfer" so UofL would have no "veto" in a transfer destination. At least I think that is the rule for graduate transfers.

Peace

All good.

Well, I do sometimes talk to myself, only way I can have an intelligent conversation at times-----LOL. But then I do try to keep it off the internet.

If the player makes a big enough stink about it, usually the school has to give in and allow the transfer.

It's too easy for schools to use this in negative recruiting.

At this point, it's silly for a school to put ANY restrictions on transfers.

I would rather have Bonnafon than the Juco transfer.

Bonnafan can run. Would be a nice contrast to Barker skillset.

Yikes! Setting the QB bar VERY low. One of his former coaches said Reggie would never be a P5 starring QB. He was wrong by a few games. The kid could not make decisions and his legs were non-factors, because he could not throw.

More of a lack of confidence in the Juco kid than a vote of support for Bonnafon.

So this is about a conversation in someone's garage, and some of you seem to think that it's as true as if the ap is reporting this.
Yes I'm not reporting it as fact. My neighbor is a crazy whose daughter works in their athletic dept. selling tickets . Not a high position or anything but it struck me as odd because he acted like that was something to brag about. I guess Lvl fans find strange things to be proud of but then again they are Card fans. I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about it is all.

I highly doubt any ul QB wants to transfer to UK. Even if he did, I doubt Stoops would take him. Outside of Lamar, none of their backups are better than Barker.

We know what Bonnafon is against P5 competition. We don't know what the JuCo kid is yet, but we know the tools to be a very, very good QB are there. I'm taking the JuCo kid over the one that has proven that he's not going to effectively contribute.

Bonnafon has proven more against the P5 than our anointed starter Drew Barker has.

52% completion percengage for his career, 7 TD/5 INT. Most of that done his freshman year. Nothe amazing, but he'd instantly be the most experienced QB on our roster immediately and the best runner. Worst case scenario we have a really fun threat for some wildcat/read-option packages.

The Juco Kid(Stephens or w/e) is mobile but more in the Geno Smith mold. Bonnafon is more of a true running threat. I like Bonnafons contrast to Barker more so than Stephens. But agree to disagree...

Pretty sure it was Will Gardner. He's not an athlete but I know that was mentioned a few weeks back that Petrino wouldn't let him speak with UK, not sure if the staff would take him anyway.

Again..

Guaranteed bad is worse than potentially very good, potentially no good. And what do you mean "more of a true running threat"? Johnson can run a 4.57 forty and has the ability to dive over the top of the line (huge advantage in the red zone, or in close yardage situations when you're not right under the center).

Like you said, agree to disagree, but it doesn't make sense to take the one that you know is bad as opposed to the one that has the opportunity to prove that he's a really good dual-threat QB.

Bonnafon is going to become a really good running back especially if he adds some bulk.

Bonnafon is a good athlete, a good occasional H-Back or Slot receiver. and would be a good Wildcat situation type QB, but not a starter for us, not in the SEC. Jalen Whitlow come to mind? Like an earlier poster said, the SEC would eat him alive. hell, Our measley SEC defense ate him alive in the short run at QB he had against us.

Instead of arguing about Bonnafon transferring to UK, why don't we argue about which Supermodel would date us. It also falls into the category of things that aren't going to happen. I'm going with Candice Swanenpoel. She would totally want to live in UK
