I always thought collusion was a byproduct of the investigation. The extent of Russian influence, how we allowed it to happen, how to prevent it, did it work, did Trump benefit, what their motivation was, did the winning campaign know or help. And I thought that any crime uncovered, including evidence fabricated to secure a FISA for illegal campaign benefit would be within his scope as well. No?

The all encompassing SC law that Ken Starr operated under expired. The original, and now what's back in place, only allows for a specific crime to be investigated(More like US law, less like Gestapo). Rosenstein's directive to Mueller didn't take that into consideration(more like Gestapo).

Mueller isn't going to go after his friends.

But he wasn’t appointed to investigate just collusion, he was appointed to investigate Russian influence into the ‘16 election, right?

Which I think most Americans were in favor of, even many that voted for Trump.
No, he was brought on to investigate collusion and other matters which may arise from that investigation.

Still needed, and a hen appointed GOP loved Mueller. Then lawyers that had ties to Dems were hired, and everyone screamed farce.
