Texas an 8-5 team last year at 5? seriously? even worse Oklahoma 6-7 last year jumping up to 13? Florida isn't a T-25 team and neither is Mississippi State. OTOH Ole Miss is worthy of making the T-25
First of all, I'm amazed Florida is ranked. Second, Kentucky has a lot of offensive "ifs", but the Coen effect seems to extend beyond recruiting QBs and skill players.

Why is Texas always a top 5 team no matter what season they had prior? Are they betting on Ewers living up to the hype?

Don't see why so many SEC teams are ranked, specifically Florida and msu.
UK certainly has a favorable schedule to start the season so if start out ranked will be ranked a while.

It could happen if (when) they start 3-0. However, if they are ranked come the 1st day of November then Freeze is an excellent coach because they have a brutal stretch after week 3:
