It's about entertainment and emotional stimulation - all such commentary as that isn't describing the actual game. And it will continue to thrive whatever you think or I think. That public are the stooges; the talking heads are getting rich.

All of the broadcasters like him are lucky to pick at a 50/50 rate. Count on him to be wrong half the time. His racket is that he is good. His ratings are vary good. No other conference has anything like his show. Being a first class weasel is part of his act.
"Act" is the operative word. He's an actor. Actors who make it big are paid accordingly.
All Finebaum does is go whichever way the wind blows. He praises the teams playing well and dogs the teams not playing well. Anyone can do that.
