Just noticed the Polymarket branding on the ON3 logo. As the father of a teenaged son who is hooked on sports betting, Polymarket and Kalshi ads are not what I want from IC. I understand, but it’s disappointing.

I’m no puritan, but I do think we’ll look back on all of this widespread sports gambling and prediction market BS and wonder why we put up with it for as long as we did.
It’s having a horrible impact on young men in particular.

Thank you for the feedback. Polymarket replaced BetMGM as an On3 sponsor for 2026-27, so that switched out yesterday.
It's at the network-level, so we can't control most of it. But we have had internal discussions. Gambling has certainly become so pervasive in sports in recent years.
Idk why but Kalshi and Polymarket rub me the wrong way. And I didn’t even take into consideration betting on recruits.

Adding to this, and I think in general gambling sponsorships are a bit icky but prediction markets are a whole different breed. Sports gambling is at least highly regulated. You shouldn't be able to bet on EVERYTHING. Not to mention how easy prediction markets make it to insider trade.
How long until there are prediction markets for where recruits go to school? Imagine how easy that would be for people to manipulate for profit.
Very much a fan of IC, very much not a fan of a lot of the things on3 are doing on a network level.
Young people’s lives are being ruined by the normalization of gambling. Platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi reward those with informational advantages who do insider trading while everyday people bear the losses. The only reason Las Vegas exists as it does is because the house always wins, and now that same model is being pushed onto a generation already struggling to afford rent and basic necessities. With concerns about gambling’s influence on sports only growing, as seen with countless point shaving and rigging controversies in professional and collegiate sports in the matter of the last few years, seeing ON3 profit from promoting prediction markets while so many young people are becoming addicted and losing their way is a disgrace.
ON3 knows their target market and do it anyways. Every sports company is also doing the same shameful thing.
I love this community, but the sponsorship is disgusting and disappointing, honestly. Companies like Polymarket are so harmful and I hate to see them claw and creep into more and more places.

This is why I was hesitant and I remain skeptical about the move to On3, they seem way more willing to deal in the shadier side of things than the other site. Prediction markets should be straight up illegal and I don't know how you can claim how coming here was good for the community when we now have stuff like polymarket shoved down our throat.

No other way to really describe it when a prediction Market is becoming a partner with a recruiting platform. It's the same way I feel about CNN partnering with Kalshi or ESPN getting their own sports betting platform. None of it feels right.
Wow, that may be one of the worst examples I’ve seen. There really is no defending prediction markets in general - they need to be banned yesterday.
If your corner of ON3 generates Polymarket traffic do you get a cut?

I think that's part of the problem. Sports betting is one thing, prediction markets are a different animal and a whole new can of worms. I realize prediction markets do sports betting so to speak, but it's so much more than that, and so much more dangerous in my opinion for a myriad of reasons.
That said, I watched a YouTube video on how to build your portfolio slowly on sure locks, and not be like the "other guys", so I opened an account yesterday. Im kidding.....mostly.
But at the end of the day, it's no different than alcohol advertising, casino advertising, nicotine pouches, vape, THC, on and on and on. At some point, the onus is on the consumer to manage their own lives. For example, I went to the BBQ and Bourbon festival at Koko Booth last weekend. Cheetah gentleman's club had a booth set up, and I only went over there once or twice when my wife was in the restroom. It's called will power.
You can sports gamble without it being an addiction. Same for regular gambling.
Thats certainly an opinion. It can be a way to enjoy games and keep up with a sport. As long as its done responsibly it isnt stupid or an issue.
Gambling has been normalized for years. Im not saying it isnt hurtful at times, but literally there are several more harmful things going on this world than being able to gamble. Drugs are probably the worst.

The problem is that it often attracts an unsavory, abusive, and/or criminal element. The bad outweighs the good. There are much better ways to enjoy games and keep up with sports that don't perch someone at the top of a slippery slope to gambling addiction and/or crime.
I mean I don’t think logging onto the draft kings app on a Saturday morning while sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee watching college gameday attracts any sort of criminal element but that’s just me
