Rarely do I watch after we lose...maybe the championship, or pieces of select games if my bracket is in the running, but for the most part, golf season begins in earnest the day after the Cats are eliminated

I used to watch it all the time. But after the NCAA turned a blind eye to UNC in 2017 then allowing them to win another natty killed my interest in NCAA altogether. I also blame both for the rise of NIL.

I stop watching, yes.

I am confident, however, that we make the S16. The SEC is a monster - that tournament is essentially E8 or better competition (1 and 2 seeds from yesterday on). I just don't see the first two rounds of competition being anywhere near even Arkansas/OU SEC level.

So I think I'll be watching at least through Thurs/Friday two weeks from now.

That's been my hope, and sort of a sneaky prediction.. I think Kentucky might throttle it's first two opponents (unless it's texas), for this very reason. I think we are coming in very battle tested, and this might be the healthiest we've been since like late January when Butler and Jrob both went down. We've now adjusted to life without Jrob.. we had Elite 8 level games almost every night in the SEC.. we got dicked down by the officials.. and we had everyone's superbowl when we went on the road.

Now there's no more road games, we're ready for this level of competition, and we can't possibly keep getting the worst refs when there's 48 games in 4 days.

Same. We're here to watch UK win championships, not root for others teams.
Disagree. When UK loses, I just pick other teams to root against. I like college basketball too much to quit watching all together. The tournament is still great, even when UK is no longer playing. Surprised so many quit watching

Nah.. I keep watching and pulling for the underdogs/Cinderella’s. Why? It’s the tournament bro! That’s like saying “ screw Christmas “ because I didn’t get what I wanted lol.. like watching Villanova hit that shot against UNCheats, loved it, could almost taste their tears 🤔

NcaaT, SECT. If uk isn’t playing I could care less about college basketball. Early outs become a habit regardless of coach. That’s 6-7 years of fans who each year lower the expectations. Im not watching today. I don’t care which team wins. When we lose in the ncaat I won’t watch another game. I think alot of us are like this based on how quickly we can flip to off season mode and discuss the next season while the ncaaT is just getting started (the last 5-6 years). I wanted to poll and see who else tunes cbb out after we lose in tournament play.
“A lot of us?” “We?” You don’t speak for the majority of us. You’re quick to flip flop and ***** as soon as we lose but those of us with common sense and an understanding of how special this season has been will appreciate it for what is was versus what it wasn’t. Keep posting your dumb polls and 10 negative threads a day, makes it obvious that you’re not a fan but if so you’re the worst kind.

I will watch every game I can regardless of how UK does. It’s my favorite sporting event by far.

I always laugh at how many people say they don’t watch anymore after UK loses when this board claims it’s so keyed into and smart about college basketball. It seems like most of the board just watches UK and that’s it.

I do a little of both. It's not that I'm like "boycotting" the sport when UK loses.. it's kind of like, watching your ex get railed by another dude. I don't want to watch two teams battle it out for a Final4, when In my mind I'm thinking "That could be/should be us". Like when UK got cheated out of the Final 4 against UNC.. I couldn't stomach watching anymore.

I still keep up with the tournament after we lose, but don’t watch until all teams I hate are eliminated.

The problem is, I hate so many teams, one of them almost always makes it to the last weekend.

I quit watching when UK goes out. But my damn GF keeps watching as she played through high school like I did. We literally get in fights over it lol. I watch maybe the title game or final four at most.

It depends on a combination of when we lose and who is left. The later we lose the less likely I am to keep watching.

Just as examples, I didn’t watch the title game in 2015 because I was just sick and didn’t want to watch either Duke or Wisconsin win it all. In 2022 I watched the Elite Eight and then quit because the F4 was mostly disgusting that year. But I watched to the end in 2016 because it was a good Tournament and I had teams to root for until the end.

So I guess my answer is yes, I keep watching. I love basketball and that doesn’t change. But that doesn’t mean I’m interested in watching North Carolina and Kansas square off for a title. My love does have conditions.

Sorta done, I'll stop watching for the most part if I don't have a bracket competition going on. I'll watch the Final Four or Championship games with feigned interest.

Nah I love watching basketball whether Kentucky is in it or not. If they lose I just put all my energy into rooting against and hating on the teams I don’t like lol

Only two championship games I wouldn’t watch. 1984 and 2015.

2011 was rough too. You just knew butler didn't have the team they had the year before so if UK had beat uconn they had the title. Knight shot like 6 of 23 or something against uconn.

I stop watching. Overall, college basketball is just horrible to watch, and without the emotional connection with UK, I couldn't tell you the last time I finished the rest of the tournament. I'd guess it's been well over 20 years.

I can count on one hand the # of non-UK games I watched anything more than a couple minutes of this year. I’ll keep an eye on the non-UK NCAA tourney games and put them on if they are close down the stretch, but that’s all I intend to do. I just don’t really care much for college basketball these days.

SEC refs are criminal
Yes they are.

I quit watching once UK is out, but when it gets down to the final 8 I usually watch again if there is/are a team or teams that I detest. Once we're out, it's mostly important only from a standpoint of rooting against teams that are threatening our 8 nattys. At the top of that list are Duke, UNC, Uconn, Kansas, Indiana and maybe Villanova. Sometimes I root for a team like Ohio State since I was born and raised in Ohio as long as they aren't playing UK or maybe St John's to see Rick get one more before he retires.

I know that6 many dislike Pitino, but to me he saved the prestige of the program very quickly when it could have been damaged for a very long time. In fact, I think that had he stayed at UK, we probably would have won 3 or 4 more titles by now. He was a great coach and we were the most dominant team from 1991 through 1998 while he was at UK. I credit mostly him for the 1998 natty because we won with his recruits who told Tubby to let them play the way Rick taught them if he wanted to win a NC. He let them do it and we got number 7.

UCLA is a team I despise because of Sam Gilbert buying the best players back in an era when I'd like to believe that college game wasn't nearly as corrupt and paying off recruits was more the exception than the rule. I discount all 11 titles they won because No 11 was a Jim Harrick coached team. He lied and cheated everywhere he went and was caught lying to Dick Vitale and everyone else about violating NCAA rules while he coached at UCLA. He reminds me a lot of Pearl.

What sucks is that it's my favorite sporting event but when UK is done. I get upset and I'm done the rest of the tournament!

I used to stop watching out of depression. Sadly Calipari made me so numb to UK losing, I just expected it and never had to emotionally recover. So I’d enjoy the tourney from beginning to end with no disappointment. UK losing was just an expected part of that equation.

I just watched the SEC tourney beginning to end for the same reason. My expectation of a loss this season is based on injuries though, not a loser coach. So maybe I’ll get back to only watching for UK next year and beyond…hopefully.

I will watch various games and parts of games because I’m a sports fan but definitely less into it once we lose. I don’t watch some games but check scores.

“Once we lose…?” So you go in expecting/hoping to lose? “A lot of us” would’ve said IF we lose. Just you showing your true colors which I’m guessing ain’t blue.

Depends on when we lose. If we lose early, I won’t watch again until the next weekend probably. If we lose late, especially if I feel like we have a great chance to go all the way, I turn it all the way off and subconsciously root against our rivals and other blue bloods

I’m done for the season, once UK is out, not wasting my time watching other teams. I only watch UK basketball games anyway, with the exception of NHRA Drag Racing, probably no sports on TV until UK basketball starts back up; unless the Reds make the World Series (haha). I do listen to the Reds on the radio, especially in the garage or driving around.

I'm done

Don't bet anymore (two year run broke even... lucky)

May watch a little of Alabama vs Duke if it looks like Alabama has a chance (just to look for that crying kid, again...and an ESPN meltdown)

All college NIL sports becoming un-important... due to NIL... and "feeling" that Lady Justice has her eyes covered, & thumb on the sports outcome scales

University/college programs are a broken system... for what it was originally intended.

I've always been that middle-aged guy in the stands shouting ... clapping... whoop and hollerin'.... but now it all seems a little silly... It should be for the college students .. a fun experience for them.... and something to support. But it all seems a little harder to support when the average student will be paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for the experience--often ending in debt... all the while supporting amateur athletes right out of high school who are making hundreds of thousands / millions of dollars playing a sport.

Okay, i feel better. Sorry for the Debbie Downer rage. Let's fix the bloated, corrupt College Education boondoggle and maybe there will be more worth cheering for.... Heck, I don't even rage at UL much anymore. What the H...

Instead of Go Cats...

Go CommonWealth of Kentucky! (its still a beautiful place)

I'll prob still watch especially if the 1s do make the final four.

You had four dominant teams in college bball this season (5 I guess we can count Bama on the 2 line).

Those final four games have the potential to be epic.
