While I think Rutgers is on the verge of getting in. Something makes me pause. Rutgers has given me no confidence on the road and Rutgers will be playing two of the hottest teams in the country at home. I think Michigan is an awful matchup for us with length and players that can shoot 3’s from every position on the court.

I think at PSU, mid week after they have 23 wins or so is a great opportunity to catch a team hopefully resting on their laurels with a half filled court. By the time we get to Purdue I assume their tourney hopes are all but dead. I think those are our two away opportunities.

You are dead wrong.

Rutgers is about to destroy Michigan.

Michigan winning at the Garden was a fluke that will not repeat. It has nothing to do with the RAC.. Rutgers is the better team.

I did notice refs seem to swallow their whistle when Michigan plays though.. so maybe they will get some help. They will need help.

We can beat Michigan we didn’t guard the three and we gave up how many dunks on pick and rolls and we shot 30% and still had a shot to win at the end of the game if we defend and shoot even 40% there is no reason we can’t win this game

Never ceases to amaze me at how little sense some “fans” have on this board... this team has already exceeded most predictions prior to the season...instead of doom and gloom realize this group could just as easily win 4-5 more games... 8 losses of 6 points or less with only 2 over 10 points... if the team took the same attitude as some who post here they wouldn’t have gotten even a dozen wins...such is the life of Rutgers fans.

Except for Nebraska and Northwestern, the rest of the league is evenly matched. RU can beat Michigan, Maryland, MSU and anyone else, just like any of them can beat RU. RU is good and so is everyone else. So, have some belief. Michigan will have to play lights out to beat us at home. It's possible, but RU wants to stay undefeated at home for the season, so I'm picking RU this Wednesday.

OP’s concern is totally legit, but I think this team finds a way. And, if not, they still have vastly exceeded expectations. The future is bright!

Can we beat Michigan? Yes we can, but we will need a similar team effort to the Illinois game in order to do so. Michigan's size was an issue and Livers, who might be there most skilled big, didn't play. They seem to be peaking and have an array of shooters who can hit shots to complement Teske inside. Can't give them as many open looks. I don't see how anyone can be thinking we are going to blow them off the court. This is going to be a dogfight to the end as will the rest of our games given the quality of the remaining schedule. I think we find a way to win a couple of more but there are going to be a lot more tense moments getting there.

Really depends on whether Pike adjusts the defense on Simpson. He had a chance to do that at halftime at MSG and chose to do nothing.

RU will need to earn the bid ... by playing NCAA caliber teams ... win and deserve to be in ... lose and you don’t and deserve the NIT.

Based on MSG game, think RU beats Michigan.

We beat Wisconsin IF our three point defense shows up.

Michigan is s win if we can figure out X Simpson - let him shoot and not dish for open threes.

What on earth is so hard to understand about 17-0 and one of the best home court atmospheres in the country? You have no confidence in Rutgers on the road, seriously? Was it the 3 point loss to Illinois, or the 5 point loss to Iowa, or the 5 point loss at Maryland , all with leads or a tie with 3 minutes to go, or the 6 point loss to Ohio State , that gave you no confidence in our team? Seriously why post this terrible take.

What team wants to play us at the RAC right now?
This alone gives us a definite advantage. The fans will be screaming at them and the refs will start to fear for their safety if they call a foul on us.
Actually, I see a similar result as the Illinois game.

As someone mentioned, their bigs can shoot threes. Johnson can't defend on the perimeter, which is why Garza dominated him too.

For us to win, the Michigan bigs need to have 'off' shooting nights. If that happens, the rest of our guys will take care of business.

A victory over Michigan would be oh so sweet. I think Princeton and SHU fans would even be congratulating us.

The Maize and Blue have been a thorn in the side of NJ basketball teams in what seems live forever. Bill Bradley's Princeton team lost to Cazzie Russell's Michigan club in the Final Four in 1965, SHU lost to UM in the NCAA title game in 1989, and, of course, we lost to the Wolverines in the 1976 Final Four and the 2004 NIT championship game. We've never beaten the team from Ann Arbor. Wednesday night couldn't be a better time for that streak to end.

My wife, a Michigan Alum reminds me of this quite often.

Is your thought process that RU has not played and beat NCAA caliber teams?
