why the morons are spending money on trans surgeries and illegal border crossings and not putting that money to use to find a cure for cancer. Total insane what our politicians are doing.

It’s pretty simple. They funnel the money into ratholes that kick right back to their reelection campaigns or directly into their pockets.
I’d say most of today’s conflicts or wars are started and continued using this concept.
It’s much much harder in defense. There are a lot more acquisition laws and FAR clauses. Also, DOD acquisition has like 6 committees worth of oversight.
Funneling all that ******** through Green Energy Grants, International NGOs for USAID, etc. had very little oversite.
I'd say anything a lifetime politicians support is for kickbacks or campaign funding......or to get a family member a nice cushy job!
