This is a poor argument. In 2008 they had to choose between a woman and a black man. I know people who have claimed that Obama's victory then meant that we were more sexist than racist. I think it means that we had that race down to 2 people who wouldn't have had a prayer at the nomination 40 years prior. They neglect the progress, and focus on potential negatives based on who lost. It's possible that Hillary's comments about coal and things she did between 2008 and 2016 made the people of KY decide that Sanders was the better choice for them.
