Do we even have a BB team anymore? It seems when any thing bad happens we get constant non stop news and complaining on the program. I haven't heard nor read one article from any where since last week covid announcement.

N.C. State has dropped home games to Wright State and Richmond since we won there. I know these kinds of comparisons don't always tell the true story, but I think those losses tell a truer story than the story Louisville being 1-0 on the road tells.

I suspect that you are right, and I doubt our Conference record will hold up as the season progresses. Just trying to find a sliver of something positive for this season so far.

Since Covid things are still out of wack across the country. It seems like everything is having a Covid hangover.

Good. New ACC protocols say as long as 7 scholarship players and one coach is available you can play the game. However if a team has all that and still decides not to play it goes down as a forfeit loss.

Heard today that the ACC has specified that you must have seven SCHOLARSHIP players eligible to play. Also, that there are just FOUR teams in the ACC that would qualify as Quadrant 1 wins...

As a UofL fan it's been easy for so long, the last 5 years or so have been so brutal. I'm gonna enjoy this team for whatever they can give us. I don't think they are very good, and this league is awful. It is good to see them winning some close games.

As for ACC standings yes win the games now. The "tougher" games come late this month to the end of the year.

I have a feeling that many of our wins the remainder of this season will be in single digits. Our guts will be tied in knots almost every game.

Winning builds confidence (I know clique) so I hope the team finds its identity and the players accept their roles. Starting to look like a mini Virginia team, which means no opponent is out of it.

I had a good time at the game last night. The ACC college basketball arena atmosphere is great. There were two five year old girls seated behind us cheering "Go Cards, Defense and Offense" all night.

Reminds me of the times I took my granddaughters to experience the on campus college fun.

This team plays hard but at time have trouble connecting on offense due to the constant rotation changes. It will difficult to commit to a "Dry January" this year unless you you have some of the herbs left over from the 70s. As Al Davis use to say "Just win baby".

Beat PITT and goes to 4-0.

One night does not make a season, but it is noteworthy that WF beat FSU, NCST beat VT and despite GT losing to Duke in Cameron, the game was even in the 2nd half, and GT actually outscored Duke in FGs, but lost at the FT Line, as the BDs shot 40 FTs to just 12 by GT.

The ACC is definitely struggling this season, but this is a season where the rosters are filled with a majority of new players. It happens, some conferences go through periods where senior oriented teams graduate, or experience talented kids transfer or leave early for the NBA. The ACC is experienced that right now. Despite UL returning a veteran roster, they started 3 transfers against GT. I suggest before writing off the conference this season, let the season play out until March and see if there is improvement.

Point guard looks to be the key to me.
We have to be able to get into the offense early in the shot clock.
West is gonna need help with that.
If we're gonna go high screen to get this offense in motion then let's get it going at the front of the shot clock.
I'd prefer to see Cross or Davis in constant motion. They are two guys bringing energy at that end.
There's still a lot of work to do in the half court sets...
