Don't know if you are talking about me and my posting history or not. But here's the deal - I went college and law school at NU, got married on campus at Alice Millar Chapel to an NU grad. I love this institution. What I saw at the beginning of the season was a team that lost to a D2 squad at home. I'm glad that we've seemed to have righted the ship, but I will never apologize for calling them like I see them. This is a board for fans to talk about the program; and anyone on this board is a true fan. We ain't Duke or MSU, we don't have casual fans. And losing at home to Merrimack and Radford is a problem that needed to be talked about.

I've got no problem with people talking about the bad and the ugly, so long as they see the good when it's there.
no - i wasn't talking to to you. i have never said someone can't post here. and i think people define thier fandom in different ways.
but its amazing how some people (maybe you maybe not can't say for sure) NEVER come to celebrate or congratulate or talk about in improvement but come guns blazing to **** on and trash the program (or other posters) when things are not great. and then say "i told you so" and i think that is donkey doodoo

I get his point and I don’t really disagree. Isolated incidents can be chalked up to being busy irl, but when you can track a posting trend effectively, you have to wonder.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Bradley and BC games, and will admit that based on the first glimpses of the team this year, the overall play surprised me favorably.
Having said that, I think both those games had some unusual elements that worked in the Cats’ favor. Spencer’s physical strength handling the ball was clearly something Bradley was unprepared for, and consequently, he gave the Cats’ offense an amazing jolt. Watching BC, I saw a team playing defense like it was the NBA all star game. There was amazingly poor communication and overall lack of sound team principles that gave the Cats a ton of open looks. The fact that the shots went in is encouraging, but hardly definitive.
To me the bottom line is that the Cats have the talent to score on teams that are either unprepared or lack a sound defense. I don’t think there will be many teams like that in the B1G. I hope there is some development of offense be design that can generate good shots against a good defense, and will gladly forego my general pessimism if that happens.

You guys are all crazy! This team would definitely make the Final Four if we just had one more recruit kind of like a Kip Kirkpatrick. Of course NU won't do that because they want to limit season ticket holders to those 80 y.o and above. Its just another lie to keep the common man down... kinda' like a round earth. Pssh... if the earth is round, why can I place my Budweiser LimeARita on the ground right now without it tipping over? Besides, this great prof from Ohio State told me it was flat. And they should know since they get all the 5 star sciency recruits. And that's that! But in case you don't believe me, you can ask FeralFelidae (suckers... they still haven't figured that out yet).
Only way to make it better would be if the bolded word were spelled "definately".
I would say, from a team that, though young and inconsistent, appears to be better and have a higher bar for its potential than many here initially gave it credit for.

I think we are gonna get smoked most of the season with a very tough big ten conference. But we have talent and high upside players. 5 wins would be impressive in this conference with frosh and sophomore getting 75% of the minutes.
Yep. For this season, anyway, I can live with a scant handful of Big Ten wins - next season, however, is when we should start to expect a more solidly competitive showing. It's growth that's important now.
