Not that I care a ton, but as I type Tiger is 14 shots off the lead in the opening round. Might get some good odds on him coming back to win. 🤔

On USA Network today. It appears that they’re showing play on the 7th hole.

Not a LIV golf fan at all, but have to admit many of their players are off to good starts.

It seems that the last golfer to tee off is now on the 12th hole. Pretty course. Ugh, switched to Peacock.

he finished his round at +6, and the leader is at -8, so 14 shots back is how he finished. Certainly not a great start for him. He'll have to shoot a great round on Friday to make the cut.

Funniest part of the day was when Spieth’s errant tee shot came to rest waist high in a bush. Fortunately, he played it smart and took a drop and penalty and made bogey

Yeah, The Open is now Closed for Tiger. Bad break driving into a divot on #1. But he putted poorly, 35 putts. ⛳️🤷🏻‍♂️⛳️

Late Thursday and early Friday start doesn't help his chances. Not enough time to rest and recover.

Let’s go Phil!!!

course is playing easy and conditions are supposed to stay mild so 20 under could win it this week.

There is some scoring going on this morning. Curious to see how Cam Young plays today and also if Scheffler can take over the lead prior to finishing this round.

Todd Lewis reported that DJ and Rory played a round together last week in Ireland. That said, DJ and Scottie should be a fun pairing. Lots of Liv guys made the cut. Getting the Bloody's and mimosas ready, should be a great weekend.

I recognize the tradition and the berth place of golf and all that, but no course in major golf should give up -21 or -22 to par. Nope.

Boy, Hovland on the 16th just barely missed what would have been a spectacular birdie putt up and over a rise. I’m just idly watching between errands and some analysis problems.

The winner is going to be -21 or -22. Is that “major” golf???

18 is long par 3

Said Thursday we are looking at 20 under. Anyone 10 under or better has a chance. Here we go!!! Could be smith or Johnson as they didn’t play great today.

You do have a point (as far as this non-golfer is concerned), but we might as well enjoy the spectacle of these amazingly skilled professionals plying their trade. Their skills are eye-popping.

I for one enjoy watching this kind of golf. Links golf is completely different from what we normally see in the USA, since the ball will roll a lot more.

What should not go unnoticed is the play from Cameron Young. This guy was money from tee to green. Look out for him going forward. If he was a better putter, would have won this...easily. But Cam, at least acknowledge the crowd with a wave or something. They had your back and you gave them nothing.

I didn’t realize how far Young can hit it. He can smash it.

“If he was a better putter…” I was under the impression that he putted lights-out today.
