Yeah, the teams changed and the goals did as well, at one point only allowed to shoot layups, another only jumpers, stuff like that.
Things I noticed:
Tre Singleton is a full on man. He looks like a junior in terms of physique, and showed solid court awareness and savy play (also he has a nice FT stroke). I think he'll play himself into a ton of minutes by conference time if he isn't already there. I suppose it will come down to executing the defense, but I thought he was one of the best players on the court.
Reid is "probably" taller than Juice. He's really fast, agile, and showed great court awareness, had several killer passes and was generally able to get by whoever was guarding him. I can see him being the starting point guard in non-con and having solid minutes all season.
Arrinten knows how to play, but I thought he was a bit too focused on scoring once he had the ball and his missed some obvious opportunities to pass out of a bad spot. He has a nice FT stroke - this seems really important to me for the apparent starting center. He's built well and should be able to bang in the B1G.
Cade is definitely a project. I can see coach wanting to redshirt him, because I don't think he's ready for D1 ball. I do think he can get there, but it would be great for him and the team if he spent this year getting there without burning eligibility. He's also way too skinny. A year at the table and in the weight room will do him a world of good.
Jake looked like the second fastest kid on the court and displayed a lot of puppy eagerness and bounce. He's going to make a lot of rookie mistakes, but I think he'll come along pretty quickly. I'm not sure he'll be ready to be more than a sub in conference without a bunch of experience this year, but I'm absolutely open to the possibility.
Tyler, Max, and Phoenix looked to me to be trying to figure things out. They had some good moments and some bad moments. They looked talented and a bit lost.
The guys we already know all looked like they're picking up where they left off last spring. Justin looks like he's taken another step in leadership and aggressiveness. I'll be curious to see him playing, but he looked confident and strong in all phases of the practice.
Nick was low key, didn't try to do everything and left most of the work to the new kids.
KJ cut his hair. I didn't recognize him at all, and had to track down #24. He played well and was doing his leadership thing with the new kids as they played.
Angelo still seems to play a little outside himself, but he's improved noticeably from this time last year. I think he'll have to compete for court time by December.
Clayton, Blake, and Gus were there. I'll be curious to see if Gus gets any court time as a 6-9 redshirt junior who isn't super athletic, but knows the system. I think Clayton and Blake will be riding the bench by February at the latest.
