I've gotten two e-mail invites but I haven't seen anything like a sign up sheet. I thought the last few years I've registered to attend, but maybe I'm wrong?

At this point, I'm just going to show up and expect they'll let me in. Anyone else have better info?

The email I received was an open invitation to show up at 11:00. No registration link or requirement. I’ll take my chances, lol.

Thanks! The fast point guard from fla and center from Cincy look really good. Veterans all seem as advertised

Jake had a couple impressive dribble drives to the basket. He would definitely qualify to be on one of Al McGuires’ “All-Blur” teams. Not sure if he’s all of 6’3, though.

For me, Jake West stole the show. Very quick and he is 6-3. He looks ready to play as a Freshman. How did we lure him away from all the great teams in Philly!
JW caught my eye also.

That's a different team if he's starting by 1/1. Defenses won't need to concentrate as much on Reid.

loved the video. Anybody there able to give educated description of things that stood out or guys that dominated?

I wonder if this sort of practice is one of the reason to keep the roster under 15. Too many guys sitting around waiting their turn.

Oops, yeah, he came in with the black shirts. Kind of surprising to me Clayton was playing with who you'd think were the starters and KJ was not? But we'll see!
Seemed to me there were a few guys who changed teams, including West and Gelo. I presume Collins is still trying lineup alternatives.

Given that it's a highlight reel that focused more on offensive success (i.e. didn't really see steals, blocks or plays that forced turnovers) tough to do any analysis. However, I loved seeing all 5 guys touch the ball on the play starting at 2:59, and Page's back-in at 3:47 where he works the dribble between his legs inspired a 👀 from me. Aside from that, I liked seeing KJ executing catch and shoot 3s off of Jayden Reid penetration, and I love seeing Justin Mullins with assertive midrange takes (1:10).

Also, its a open scrimmage so I'm unsure if this portends the type of pace Collins wants to play, but it sure seemed quicker (like seeing Tre Singleton dribble into a 3 as the first action of a possession).

There were four "games". Several players switched teams for each game and Collins set the score and clock to simulate different game situations, i.e. end of the game down by 1 or 2, etc. Nick caught one in the nose from Page on a play under the basket. There was a lot of energy from everyone, but I thought Mullins was very assertive, and had some nice drives to the basket and at least one 3 pointer. Agree on West, he is very quick and sure with the ball. Granted they were playing each other, but I think it will be a team that is fun to watch. Collins remarked that the team is very deep and he won't hesitate to expand the rotation.

He has the chance to substitute in waves and keep people fresh. Reminds me of how Brian Gregory (ex NU Assistant that went to MSU and got a ring before getting the HC gig at Dayton) ran the Dayton Flyers.

Yeah, the teams changed and the goals did as well, at one point only allowed to shoot layups, another only jumpers, stuff like that.

Things I noticed:

Tre Singleton is a full on man. He looks like a junior in terms of physique, and showed solid court awareness and savy play (also he has a nice FT stroke). I think he'll play himself into a ton of minutes by conference time if he isn't already there. I suppose it will come down to executing the defense, but I thought he was one of the best players on the court.

Reid is "probably" taller than Juice. He's really fast, agile, and showed great court awareness, had several killer passes and was generally able to get by whoever was guarding him. I can see him being the starting point guard in non-con and having solid minutes all season.

Arrinten knows how to play, but I thought he was a bit too focused on scoring once he had the ball and his missed some obvious opportunities to pass out of a bad spot. He has a nice FT stroke - this seems really important to me for the apparent starting center. He's built well and should be able to bang in the B1G.

Cade is definitely a project. I can see coach wanting to redshirt him, because I don't think he's ready for D1 ball. I do think he can get there, but it would be great for him and the team if he spent this year getting there without burning eligibility. He's also way too skinny. A year at the table and in the weight room will do him a world of good.

Jake looked like the second fastest kid on the court and displayed a lot of puppy eagerness and bounce. He's going to make a lot of rookie mistakes, but I think he'll come along pretty quickly. I'm not sure he'll be ready to be more than a sub in conference without a bunch of experience this year, but I'm absolutely open to the possibility.

Tyler, Max, and Phoenix looked to me to be trying to figure things out. They had some good moments and some bad moments. They looked talented and a bit lost.

The guys we already know all looked like they're picking up where they left off last spring. Justin looks like he's taken another step in leadership and aggressiveness. I'll be curious to see him playing, but he looked confident and strong in all phases of the practice.

Nick was low key, didn't try to do everything and left most of the work to the new kids.

KJ cut his hair. I didn't recognize him at all, and had to track down #24. He played well and was doing his leadership thing with the new kids as they played.

Angelo still seems to play a little outside himself, but he's improved noticeably from this time last year. I think he'll have to compete for court time by December.

Clayton, Blake, and Gus were there. I'll be curious to see if Gus gets any court time as a 6-9 redshirt junior who isn't super athletic, but knows the system. I think Clayton and Blake will be riding the bench by February at the latest.
