I'm good with that. That's how it should be
Going to open practices, or getting those reports built up excitement for the upcoming season. And were a helluva lot of fun to attend.

That's OK, I'm sure our coaches have really changed up their strategies and don't want anyone to leak our new secrets.

Just pay for your jacked up season tickets and say that you like our guys.

What you’re not excited to get 3rd-5th again?

Ever since the new facility opened, you have to know the secret handshake to get any good information out of practice or the insiders.

Think they switched it to just 1 open practice a year. This year it will be Homecoming weekend, Sept 27th.

The choice of access to build interest vs secrecy…… pretty sure they don’t care about my opinion but I would go with access.

Has nothing to do with access--It's a University of Iowa decision related to security.

I went to the weekend wrestle offs one year and open practice. I think it was Murins 2nd season he had a match that went into overtime. Many of the starters had a match or two that won handily but it was great watching from matside. One of the Brands (I'm never sure which is which) came up to me and said hi as he was on his way to talk to a family member, thought that was cool because Im just a random guy from nowhere in South Dakota. Met a lot of good people and visited. That 2 day open practice and wrestle off was just about the best thing since sliced bread.

I’ve been to multiple Iowa open practices, including one when I was on a recruiting trip. It was awesome to see the guys working out and is a great experience. Also a great opportunity to get to talk to athletes/coaches and meet other die hard fans.

ISU just had an open practice that was outdoor at the tailgate for Saturday’s football game, and loved the experience.

Tom had an open door policy for 15 years and is probably the only sport that let fans come in. Stands to reason that he didn't go full secret squirrel...those decisions were made above his pay grade. I believe it started with Covid and got more severe. I'm guessing there are still ways for a parent, friend of the program etc to go in and watch practice but that would involve coordination and an escort in since the bldg is badge-only. This also may have gotten stricter when Beth got hired.

Damn right, then we’d just need a billionaire donor and a compliance department that dgaf about the rules and we’ll be set! 🤡
I guess you are one of the many ok with how Tom refused to change anything for several years and just let the Cael train go on by (yes I know PSU is just about as dirty as Nebraska football once was) and apparently Okie isn't a ton better but whatever yay we like our guys

Change anything AKA cheat. Been an un-level playing field for quite some time. Could they have done some things different, sure. They’re also the last team to win NCAA besides ped st, and it would've been back to back titles if not for covid.
This notion that getting rid of tnt will immediately put us back on top is absurd unless it comes with a ****-ton of new $ and a compliance department that suddenly decides to look the other way!
