Find someone’s who’s an outstanding recruiter. Calling plays is a lot easier when you have players who can actually run them.

Well maybe he can hire the guy who coaches his kids’ peewee team instead. Heard he has some fresh ideas.
My brother coached Anderson’s kids in softball, and also played high school football. Should I send a resume on his behalf?

Pay Dan Mullen whatever he wants
We kicked this idea around in another thread...there are two realistic options here (whether for Mullen or some other recently off'd head coach):

1. If Fitz actually wants to fire someone he could probably get someone with head coaching pedigree to come in for a year and help right the ship - would require Fitz to show a level of humility that we haven't seen publicly, but would spare him the pressure to jump back into the pool and possibly make a bad pick.

2. Could bring a recently axed head coach in under one of those "analyst" deals, which would probably be the best case scenario - get another big brain in the room to help catch some of the shortcomings our fleet of coaches aren't catching on their own right now.

You wouldn’t need to pay him much at all. If my understanding is correct, he is getting a lump sum of his buyout now and then is owed $1mm from florida every year until 2027. Any payment from NU or elsewhere would reduce that $1mm payout amount. I tried to find a link confirming this but was unsuccessful.

…which is why it’s just as likely he takes a low-paying analyst gig at a higher-profile program.

I think I'm more than qualified. I've led NU to 7 straight national championships in NCAA Football 14 on Xbox. We're passing for 700 yards a game on varsity difficulty and I just landed a 5-star QB with an 82 overall rating. We have the #1 offense and the #4 defense nationally, and I have the coaching perk that allows me to spend 700 points on recruits weekly. Think Bajakian can do that? I don't think so.

David Cutcliffe, fired by Duke earlier today. Aren‘t he and Fitz buddies?
Fitz is baffled by all the coaches being held accountable for bad seasons. Wasn’t beating the 2020 big ten champs (west division) an impressive enough feat for the dookies?

I suggested hiring a coach coach FOR Fitz, not BY Fitz.

I was told that Fitz and Mullen are friends. Mullen can be an arrogant jerk, but he's a great QB coach. He's gotten great production from several 2 & 3 star athletes at the position. He could also add some excitement to our offense. It could be a win for Fitz and his friend. Mullen as "analyst/qb coach" increases NU scoring by 17 points a game, gaining back his mojo and HC appeal. Fitz proves that he is a transformative leader and regenerates the team and fan-base. Offense sells anywhere!!!
