The Huskers have 15 JRS. on this years team. There are 6 full-time starters and a 2 part-time starters.

Among this group, what is YOUR opinion of each of these 15 players in terms of who returns for their Senior year, who among them might go into the portal, and who may declare for the draft.
X indicates, starter, x indicates part-time starter.

George and Pritchett will be back. A few I'm worried about getting tampered with as there has been chatter, one is on the shelf for the year Malcom Simpson, and then Nyziah Hunter and Andrew Marshall and these are very real possibilities. I guarantee there will be HUGE surprises enter the portal after the season, and more than people think.

Any upperclassmen who hasn’t played or hardly contributed can be processed out. It’s harsh, but this is a dog eat dog sport and you’re only gonna get so good practicing against inferior talent.

We can’t lose the first three, Marshal and Bonner, either. Though Bonner hasn’t broke through quite yet. Still, am curious how he was going to be used this year.

Have you looked at next year's schedule? Without a huge jump in player development or massive portal finds this team will be very lucky to win 5 or 6 games next year.
Next year replace Cincy, Akron and Houston Christian with Miami, Bowling Green and North Dakota.
Huskers likely go 3-0 again. The BIG is the rub.

Replace MSU, IA, MINN, MICH, MARY, NW, USC, UCLA, and PENN ST with
MSU, IA, RUT, WASH, ILL, IND, ORE, and OHIO STATE.

We repeat with MSU and IA, but overall the other 6 are far more difficult than this year's schedule.
That's a tall order. I see 5-6 potential losses in the BIG once again.

I’ve expressed this before as well. If you’re a junior that can’t crack the 2-deep, time to move on.

HS lineman : better be in the 2-deep by year 3
HS other : better be in the 2-deep by year 2
Transfer : better be in the 2-deep by year 1

Most of the players that can’t meet that standard are targets for being recruited over and processed.

You know you hired and extended the right coach when the only way you can win 8+ games is if the schedule breaks your way!

I am expecting some significant portal losses. Ohio U and North Dakota to me are trap games. Early in the year. Not pushovers by any means. We HAVE to get all 3 of those to have a shot at 6-6 . If we get one of the six losses ( I doubt we can ) we get to 7-5. Year 4. I see Rutgers, MSU, Maryland as wins in league play.

In the unknown event TJ really plays well the next 4 games it could make for an interesting QB situation next year. Let's say that running element makes this offense more diversified, does Matt placate DR and just hand him the job again, or does he take out the hook when DR is struggling....like he always does.

Or does Matt learn his lesson this year by not giving some snaps to the backup QB in several of the games so when DR goes down, the offense starts all over again late in the season.
