There's more than enough charter and preps schools to have their own thing.
Charters have a different set of rules as far as student body goes. They have a much wider district to choose from and can utilize the lottery to gain athletes. Most say they do not, but we all know of some that created an all star team of players within just a few seasons. Charters also grow faster than regular public schools. Example, Uwharrie Charter was in 1A playing sports and winning titles in wrestling and baseball while growing rapidly. Four years later they were a 4A team. So they played 1A sports with 4A numbers. The traditional schools rarely change enrollment numbers more than 10-20 kids up or down most years. They should be in their own playoff systems in all sports or be required to play up a division in playoffs. 25-26 school year, 53 state titles were won by charters scattered among the 8 classes. High percentage was in 1A.

Their coaches are almost never school employees either. That's very telling.

I do believe his ultimate goal is to go back to Beddingfield, where he started. And he has shown already that he'll leave a job after only one year there. That's how we got him.
Given how down beddingfield is, I'm sure they'd take him back right now. I can't see him leaving right now because I do believe the cougars will be solid next year. But in a couple years I could.

I’m not going to lie to say I wasn’t disappointed with how this season has gone . I thought for sure after last years playoff run it would be different . I get the spread but the offense to me was so predictable with what they were going to do.
