The Bobby Knight answer to Leslie Visser (IIRC). I like it. ;)
Along those lines:

I have liked Cignetti's (IU Coach) approach to media questions from his first press conference on.

The other night - halftime of their game - was classic Cignetti. The 1/4 of a nitwit "reporter" asked him two questions as he was leaving the field (paraphrasing a bit):

"You said it would be important to get sacks tonight, why have you been successful there in the first half?"
Cignetti: "We got sacks"

"What do you want to see from your offense in the 2nd half?"
Cignetti: "More points"

It was perfect.

Didnt you learn your lesson last marathon? Remember beers on u if you can’t beat 2’s philly 3:29

see the R I5 rumors? I’d 100% move off the m2 for that

No chance the 5 cylinder happens. If somehow it does, we wont get it. Some random site put out the article with no source, and then everyone else used that as the source.

Ran a 1:38 half a few weeks ago so under 3:30 is doable if I get decent weather.

I heard a lot through the first 3 games about they were holding back playbook. Not wanting to put anything on film, etc. I can recall this being said over and over. throughout the years (regardless of the coaching staff) when first few games, prior to a P4 opponent and there were clear concerns with the offense and/or defense. Can anyone actually point to an example where PSU was kinda middling/inconsistent won the opening game(s) and then really opened up the playbook like we are all expecting this week?

The only example I could come up with was 2002 with Nebraska but that was only one game (UCF) before Nebraska and a bye between UCF and Nebraska. It also was a completely different coaching staff.

My point is sure, we may see a few weird formations that create confusion or a timeout from Oregon but that what we saw in the first 3 games may be what we have until they sort out their issues (if they can) and Saturday may be messy--mistakes from both sides and struggles from the Singleton and Allar like we've seen in the first 3 games.
Something as simple as having Allar keep it on some read options and using him in the tush push are obvious things (to me) that we’ve been holding back until now.

I certainly don't believe this game bears too close a resemblance to last years game with Oregon. Obviously if it ends up that way, we probably won't win, but like I said, this is a big game and Drew has played in 28 more of them than their QB., who has also never played an away game at night against a top team in front of 110 thousand fans rooting for the other team. Sorry but that counts.

Is it enough by itself? Hell no. Penn State will need it's A game and a few more plays than Oregon.

It's not Ohio State, we haven't been favored against OSU since 2009.

2024 we were 3 point dogs against the buckeyes
2023 we were 4.5 point dogs against the buckeyes
2022 were were 15.5 point dogs against the buckeyes

It was the Ole Miss bowl game with all the opt outs.
Guy goes on and on about how mediocre our program is, then tries to claim we were favored over OSU in one of the last 3 years. 🤔

So bro, we beat O? Do you care or accept it is what it is. Today Colin talked about the BIGGEST delta between teams is coaching and referenced Denver’s Payton and chargers Harbaugh. Pay close attention to who comes out of LAs group this year and beyond (It’ll be Harbaugh)

Allar: 33 career starts
Moore: 5 career starts

There's your reason.
Moore isn't as inexperienced as folks are trying to make us believe. This is his third year playing P4 college football. His freshman year was 2023 at UCLA and he played in 9 games with 213 passing attempts. That's 23.6 attempts per game. As a comparison, Drew played in 10 games his freshman year (2022), but only had 60 attempts - 6.0 per game.

Moore basically sat last year as he only saw action in 4 games with a total of 8 attempts.

I do subscribe to the idea that he has never played in an environment like the Whiteout nor has he played a defense as good as Penn State's.

We win just because it will piss off the segment of our fan base that want us to lose so they can cry and whine about it.
Your stance on Coach if he leads us to 0-2 again v big boys this year, like every year. Is there no limit to your allegiance to big game?

It is not allegiance to Franklin. You and others fail to provide the name of the HC that will without a doubt do better here. I’m all for even Sponge Bob Square Pants being named HC if there is the GUARANTEE of being better.

People like you would rather risk becoming Nebraska for the last 20 years. I say no thank you and am glad it isn’t your job.
There is so much untapped coaching talent. Our next coach could be the QB coach at N ill. With States facilities and cash, this guy could beat the same 1 aa teams big game wins and MAYBE we do 1-3 v osu
i have to believe State would be a coveted job snd bros would get in line to apply. You know NFL? Who’s more important to the birds success (Super Bowl champions) saquan or Howie? (It’s Howie)
‘now I don’t know the AD but our first order of business is get a Howie ad and find the next coach, imo a play calling O guy

He hasn't played a defense this good, but he played better competition his freshman year (albeit with a worse surrounding cast) and the results weren't great. He was an INT machine.

3 ints against Oregon State. 2 against Cal. 2 against UCLA. 2 against Wazzu. 1 against Utah.

He's played 8 games against P4(5) competition where he's attempted 10+ passes and thrown picks in 6 of them.

We win with defense. Moore is a new QB facing his first real test, in one of the toughest environments in sports. We should be able to rattle him and slow down their offense. If the game turns into a track meet we could be in trouble as that's not our identity. Our run game should also have some success. I have confidence in the defense and Knowles to keep their offense in check enough for us to win.

Have you witnessed anything during the first 3 games to suggest that this year is different?

I haven’t.

1) dumb / unnecessary offsides penalties by the DE’s

2) false starts

3) really poor tackling
The defensive starters have given up a total of ZERO points through 3 games. If you don't feel that that's exceptional performance regardless of the opponent, I don't know what else to tell you.

I’m not concerned about D at all. It’s 15 and Joel said on Colin this very thing. “15 has to play awesome”

If you're not concerned with the D at all, then you should be predicting PSU curb-stomping Oregon.

For example, last year, Allar wasn't anything close to "awesome" and we were still within a TD of Oregon - at their house - despite the defense laying a stanky egg.

If our D is stout this game, we're running away with it. And I could mean that literally, as we won't even need Allar.

And stop listening to, and citing, goofballs on TV/radio. No one takes what they say seriously. They're meant for background noise entertainment, to pass the time while you're doing something meaningful, like taking a dump. Oh, and Klatt didn't say this very thing on Cowherd's show. He said he picked PSU by 1, and he didn't mention Allar.
