He didn't exactly own Riley in the PAC. And the guy had a 14-22 PAC 12 record coming into this year. Yeahhhhhhh, nobody would have flipped **** over that.
Because Kelly was the real OC. All Kelly really needed was somebody to get him more coffee.
Maybe Whittingham would have done the same. But obviously he can't be a good coach based on his 14-22 record in the PAC. At least that's what we're told on this board.
The true measure of a good coach is having a career .500 winning percentage and taking a 9 win team to a 5 or 6 win season.

Yes because in college football you get the same roster every year...some of the people on here blow my mind with the stupidity they post.
Whittingham had to compete in the PAC with a Mountain West team the last few years. Now that he has had a chance to recruit for the Pac-12, his team looks pretty darn good.
He's had an undefeated season and won 2 BCS bowls. If Riley had done that in his career, he'd probably get a little more leeway from fans here.
