I like all the action films, including the ones where women are in the starring role, but how're you going make James Bond a woman? It's like saying the next Wonder Women is going to be a man. Seems kinda lame to me.

Personally I think it needs to be someone who can play a Bond that is similar physically and in style to the past Bonds. I have nothing against female or black characters but to me that is a different story and a different character which I would also go to see. But let's leave Bond himself as close as possible to what he's been. That's my view.

Agreed. 007 is pretty defined after 60 years. There would be nothing wrong with starting a storyline for 002, 005, etc and that character can be whatever you want it to be. 007 is James Bond. The character is a man, and a womanizing man at that.

I know he's already Thor, but Chris Hemsworth would be awesome. Probably a law against an Aussie playing a Brit, but he's hilarious and has the look.

Biology (science) is fickle and doesnt matter in certain situations. It's not important what they are, all that matters is what they think they are, you insensative neanderthal.

Next Wonder Woman - Caitlyn “Bruce” Jenner.

That's how I feel. If they want a female and/or black super agent, no problem but just make them 006, 008 or something like that - ie., let them be their own unique character with their own background and unique personality. In fact those characters could start off as spin off stories with a later team up with the real James Bond.

Umm, read. She is not playing James Bond. She is playing 007. Would you be good with it if they called it double-o-five? I don't see how this is as weird as swapping out actors to actually play James Bond.

After reading the article, this isn’t a new Bond. As a result, I don’t have a problem with it. If they were trying to recreate Bond in the image of a black woman, it would scream PC.

But since the 007 moniker can be used by male or female alike (and Bond is in exile according to the article), I’m ok with it.

Doesn’t mean I’m going to watch it.

exactly. I want to say Bond's immediate predecessor as 007 was female in the books, but can't remember.

007 is a call-sign.

I have lost interest in all of this stuff. It is correct, the former 007 is retired and the number is assigned to a new person. I find the political correctness quite boring. We now have to have women that beat the crap out of men, even multiple men at the same time, and then we have to have multi racial heroes along with having all the difference gender identifications.

This is not to say women aren't tough and strong, I fought some in karate that could knock me on my butt if I wasn't paying attention. But seriously, this has gone sooooo far left. Don't get me started about sports broadcasters.

😆😆😆 The triggered trumpers on this board are ridiculous. There are plenty of women that could beat your ***, as “pc” as that sounds it’s still true.

Roger Moore and Peirce Brosnan played up being the lady‘s man and were more debonair and funny than the other actors who played James Bond. Almost Cary Grantish. I am not sure I would want either one protecting me. My two favorite, Daniel Craig and who else but the late great Sean Connery came across as men who would really kill someone. They had a dark side. I wasn't a big Timothy Dalton fan. Can't give a reason. Just didn't like his movies. Maybe he was too stiff. I think I saw the George Lazenby (the former Mr. Pam Shriver) movie years ago and all I can remember is that I didn't like it very much. David Niven played Bond once, but I think that was more of a spoof.

Obviously she's not Bond. Perhaps I misspoke. I think the point is the new 007 will be a woman, and I'm not thrilled. I suppose they could have 007 spinoff movies, which would be fine, but it looks like the next 007 movie won't include Bond. I like the Bond movies, especially the last few. There are typically several years between each movie. Let's say the next 007 movie comes out in 2022 or 2023. That means we might not see another Bond movie until 2024 0r 2025. In the scheme of things it's a small matter. It just caught my eye, which rolled alongside the other.

I'm okay with whoever they cast as 007. What I don't want to see is a 125 lb girl punching/kicking the stuffing out of 210 lb guys who are also trained. They need to make it realistic where she's attacking weak points and not trying to trade punches.

Now if your Wonder Woman, that's different. She's got super powers. I think Gal Gadot has super powers. I am mesmerized by Gal Gadot.

Considering the social climate are you really surprised? Look at what they did to Star Wars...It's just a sign of the times and I'm sure she'll be lesbian as well..

Oh yes, have to have the ************** angle.

This isn’t what Ian Fleming had in mind.

What they did with Star Wars in that one movie was absolutely ridiculous.

Every great series gets ruined or eventually runs it's course. Couldn't they have just created a new one rather than ruin 007?
