I suggest holding off on criticizing the USA coaching until group play has concluded. The schedule is compressed + there was literally no break for players from club play. Load management is important in this tourney.

Man … hating this World Cup … I root for 4 teams each Cup … USA, Argentina, Denmark and Germany … 4 games … 0 wins.
Is this you?

I just rewatched John Oliver's show the other night on FIFA and Qatar and the World Cup.
Disgusting. What a country.
But I do share his resignation that I'm gonna be watching anyway.....'cause it's the World Cup.

You said he was a moron. Show me where any of the people you mentioned said he was a moron.

What are “experts“ saying GB did so wrong besides what I already said, and said in the midst of the match, about being late with the subs?

Oh, and regarding Reyna, did any of the experts know, factually, why GB didn’t play him? Because without knowing that, I’m not sure how the experts could know if it was wise or not. I suspect we’ll learn more about Reyna’s post-injury health and fitness Friday.
My Lord dude get a grip. Go back and watch the comments, listen to their tone and oook at their expressions, while discussing the comments from both GB (aka the “moron”) and Reyna re: not putting him in. Jesus. They were clearly both miffed AND unhappy (as was Gio).

LOL no we can’t be critical of the guy responsible for out USMNT? Yeah, sorry, he makes good money to make good decisions. Criticism is comes with the territory from Game 1. Just as accolades when warranted (actually thought the he did a very good job with the roster, starting 11 and 1st half of G1).

The comment earlier in this thread about European and South American fans not taking over stadiums REALLY isn’t aging well.

omg, what a fantastic goal by Richarlison! Just checked into our hotel in DC and turned the TV on 10 minutes ago, after missing all the matches today, but at least I got to catch this goal.

Slave labor, squalid conditions not fit for humans and thousands dying from construction accidents - buy hey, they were able to buy off the most corrupt organization on the planet (FIFA) and all the new stadiums and fake cities look oh so pretty, so let's just ignore those inconvenient facts. But none of this is on the players, so I'll watch.

Just watched Portugal-Ghana. Nice win by Portugal, 3-2, but Costa, the Portugal keeper, almost made the biggest blunder in the history of the World Cup (maybe - it would've been up there) by putting the ball down and not realizing there was a Ghana player behind him and he stole the ball and if he hadn't slipped, he would've tied the game up in the last minute of stoppage time.

Iran looking very dangerous on the counterattack today. Hit the post several times, still 0-0. Wales hanging on.

Iran deserved the win, played much better than Wales. Will not be an easy final match for the USA.

2-0 Iran beats Wales

This result changes the dynamics of the group significantly. Getting a draw today is now irrelevant for the US. The objective is now to win. The absolute must is to stay close.

Losing by one or even two is probably acceptable. Creates a must win situation against Iran - but that match is now a must win even with a draw today.

Clear(ish) path now. Beat Iran.
GD with England is important if we don't tie or win.

edit: GD doesn't really matter with England. For some reason was thinking US had 0 points instead of 1. Just need to get a win against Iran and we'd have 4 points to their 3.
