If true, this doesn't look good for the Saudi Tour

How well is LIV Golf doing on the CW? Stations across the country cut away at 6:30 PM ET to regularly scheduled programming from Sunday's final round with four holes to go. In Miami, the local CW station started airing a syndicated episode of The Goldbergs.

I don't find that surprising. The article discussed the revenue share but I thought I read that LIV had to buy air time. If so and they went over (due to weather delays), I don't blame the local affiliates for going to the local programming (since they probably make more money on the commercials). It was still available on the app. I don't even get CW so I am always on the app regardless.

Not sure if it's still that way, but in the past, PGA Tour coverage was usually bumped to Golf Channel or another CBS station if their coverage went over.

PGA Tournament this week at the Donald Ross Oak Hill GC in Rochester NY will be a strong test for the combined field of PGA and LIV players. Keeping it in the fairway and out of the thick 4 inch rough will be key to scoring.

What the hell is this ESPN coverage? Matty the Caddie? Interviews with Don Cheadle, George Lopez, and The Miz? Ugh.

Doesn’t tv coverage start on ESPN at 1 pm?
I think 1pm is the "traditional" coverage. They have this Matty the Caddie guy from 11-1 with all sorts of weird interviews, while showing the play. Might be ESPN trying to mimic MNF with Peyton & Eli.

It's bad, but maybe I should just be happy with the 2 extra hours of coverage.

I have been watching the regular coverage since 8:30 AM on ESPN+.

What do you think of the course? Typical Donald Ross design with small, elevated and crowned greens?
To be honest I have been watching with one eye due to work, but I have always liked Oak Hill. The course looks to be in great shape. Playing tough and the cold isn't helping. Northeast courses always seem so much better for these majors (Ross, Tilly, etc.).

LIV has announced they are no longer going to release viewership totals.

They've really tried to hype this season as having all kinds of momentum but TV viewership and even streaming numbers are still down and they can't keep trying to sell how popular they are becoming by releasing inferior viewership figures. So they are just going to stop doing it. LOL.

Returning to my MX-23 irons. Played a round with them last week while my PXG were getting regripped. Don’t know why I ever gave up on them.
They are the best. Amazing an iron almost 20 years old is better than new irons. I asked a Mizuno rep if they could just make a modern version of them. They said the JPX 923 Forged is close. Not really. I will never give up my set.

That being said I do love my new Mizuno Pro 223’s. I have the Modus Pro 115 S shaft. So perfect. My buddy is a big Ping/Callaway guy and I let him hit them last Saturday. He said he will not be able to sleep because they felt like butter.

The one non-Mizuno brand I did love was Srixon. Those ZX7 irons almost made me go with them. I plan to pick up a set at some point.

I think it's a great major venue. It helps that this tournament was moved to the spring where almost any PGA Championship can now be set up with US Open type rough. The late summer time slot reduced that ability as the long summer heat takes away that option.
The course looked beautiful yesterday. Hard but fair too. Looks to be a good watch this weekend.

Just looked at the forecast for the weekend. In Philadelphia the chance of all day rain has disappeared but in Rochester it has flip flopped to rain all day. Tomorrow's round looks in doubt.

Conditions are brutal right now. Pieter just hit His hybrid out of the wet rough to about 5 feet.

Do the fans seem particularly obnoxious and loud for loudness' sake? Screaming after each shot or is it me?

New Yorkers being New Yorkers?

Not as loud as they would be around here or Long Island, but they seem pretty much like they had had quite a few already. I’m not a fan of it.

Leaders have much better weather than early players today.

Wet rough, elevated, crowned greens and deep bunkers make this a real challenge.

Could the winning score be less than -10?

Brooks leading the way again going into Sunday. Don't count out Bryson yet. This course plays to his strengths.

Am I the only guy who doesn't like to watch wet course golf. Drives plugging really bothers me for some reason.

I've never seen a PGA player miss hit a ball so bad as Corry Conner did trying to get out of the bunker on 16. That wasn't a British Open coffin type bunker. But that is golf sometimes even for the best of them. He has had a tremendous weekend even with that shot.
Course is playing like a major course. Just 7 players under par for the week.
Koepka's round yesterday was out of this world phenomenal. Just 7 other golfers broke par yesterday. Koepka shots a 4under 66 for the second day in a row! Beating Fleetwood second best score by 2 shots. However the tournament is still up for grabs.

Interesting pairing of JT and Mickelson this AM. The past 2 champs and Bones (former Mickelson caddie) on the bag for JT. Would love to be following that group.
