Yet you are ignoring the same comments from Rory.Still unclear how a guy could (or even want to) play both tours with both requiring a minimum number of events.
Take Koepka, for example. Koepka has made it quite clear he doesn't really care outside the majors so would he want to play the 15 minimum PGA events (including majors) AND then also have to play the 14 LIV events (or 8). He hasn't played over 20 events in a year since like 2017, I think.
I think the other problem was Norman didn't want to be relegated to fall/winter knowing they would be up against college football/NFL broadcasts.
Yet you are ignoring the same comments from Rory.
8 LIV. 4 Majors and the TPC get them to 13. With that leaves them with just 10 more PGA tournaments. Reduce it by 3 and let the LIV replace the WGC which is falling apart and go to team format of different sizes. You keep bringing up Norman and keep ignoring that he has no power and I give a rats *** what he wants. If the PGA allowed players to play LIV and PGA events, Norman would be gone in a second. The PGA is fighting the wrong battle.
Yes it is an issue. They are saying they only get in on points. Don't think it's an issue for Koepka but as much as Im not fans of DJ and DeChambeau but they should be consider.
Why?Yes it is an issue. They are saying they only get in on points. Don't think it's an issue for Koepka but as much as Im not fans of DJ and DeChambeau but they should be consider.

Seth Waugh is only talking about the players who automatically qualify for the top 6 spots. He is not talking about the captain picks. Why?
My question is why should DJ and BD be considered. Why do you think they are top 12?Seth Waugh is only talking about the players who automatically qualify for the top 6 spots. He is not talking about the captain picks.
Well Bryson did have a good PGA. I guess you missed it. You don't think DJ is not in the mix for consideration? I'm not saying either should be locks but they should be considered. You Brandel Chamblee gang are a strange group. My question is why should DJ and BD be considered. Why do you think they are top 12?
As Scheffler said it's about getting the most points and winning the Ryder Cup on European soil. The only way I would think Bryson would be left out is if he is bad for morale in the locker room.Well Bryson did have a good PGA. I guess you missed it. Scheffler didn't mention points, I think. He just wants the best 12. These players want to win. Seth Waugh mentioned the points. As Scheffler said it's about getting the most points and winning the Ryder Cup on European soil. Koepka and Bryson are playing good golf. DJ is always a name that is in the mix. It would be stupid to leave them off.
Read Seth Waugh comments. Only those that qualify on points from the LIV. That means anyone on the LIV not in the top 6 are out. Many won't have enough points because they only count the majors they play in.Where did you read that they are not being considered?
Can you show me where he said that? All I can find is this:Read Seth Waugh comments. Only those that qualify on points from the LIV. That means anyone on the LIV not in the top 6 are out. Many won't have enough points because they only count the majors they play in.
Playing his way on the team means only the top 6. The rest of them are captain picks. Zach Johnson said the same. Can you show me where he said that? All I can find is this:
“If he plays his way on the team we will welcome him,” Waugh told Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis
Where does he said anyone from LIV not in the top 6 are out? I’m also surprised that you said BD and DJ. The number 1 player on LIV is Taylor Gooch.
Right, but no one said LIV players not in the top 6 are out. You are assuming that. Or, did Zach say he wouldn’t pick LIV players?Playing his way on the team means only the top 6. The rest of them are captain picks. Zach Johnson said the same.
Yes he did. What don't you understand about his comment? It will be based on points only. Which only "qualify" the top 6.Right, but no one said LIV players not in the top 6 are out. You are assuming that. Or, did Zach say he wouldn’t pick LIV player
No he didn’t. Showed me the exact quote that says it’ll be based on points only. You can’t so don’t waste everyone’s time. It’s not an issue. Best player will play. If DJ and BD performs at the next 2 majors, they’ll get a spot.Yes he did. What don't you understand about his comment? It will be based on points only. Which only "qualify" the top 6.
And you already said you were fine with that. Changing your tune now?
Huh?? Do you understand what he and Zach Johnson are dancing around? Are you trying to play games with me or just being dense? They both are using the "qualify" word. Only the top 6 "qualify" . There is no "qualifying" for the Captain's picks. Stop playing like you don't understand what is going on.No he didn’t. Showed me the exact quote that says it’ll be based on points only. Points in the Ryder Cup not points on tour. He wants the best 12 from whatever tour they are on. We agree on this one.Scheffler didn't mention points, I think. He just wants the best 12. These players want to win. Seth Waugh mentioned the points.
I understand that you can’t admit you are wrong. The best players will play. DJ and BD will have to earn it.Huh?? Do you understand what he and Zach Johnson are dancing around? I'm not wrong. It's tiring talking to the Brandel Chamblee gangI understand that you can’t admit you are wrong. The best players will play. DJ and BD will have to earn it.
Michael Block claims that he would be one of the best players in the world if he had Rory’s length. Too bad he shot an 81 (+11) for last place yesterday at Charles Schwab tournament. Trash talking in golf is not a good practice.
On camera he said that his iron game, wedge game, play around the greens and putting are all world class. That’s ok to to say at the bar after a few martinis but this is a guy who folds golf shirts in the pro shop. It’s a bit disrespectful to Tour players.I could see bing as good as Michael Block is at golf, figuring if I played 50-70 yards closer to the hole after every drive, I'd be right there at the top. Would be fun to see he and Rory in an off season, prime time event playing each other's drives on every other hole...or some similar configuration.
But I don't get the backlash. He's probably wrong but after 31 interviews, you say one thing where you have too much confidence in your game and you get skewered? I find the social media cancel mobs to be tired at this point. We all forgive family, friends and even ourselves for all sorts of shortcomings but if you're in the public eye these days...

He also has a sponsor exemption to play next week in the RBC Canadian Open. But he will always have his four days at Oak Hill in the PGA.

DJ has won 2 times on LIV (including the event prior to the PGA). Plus he was near the top in a good number. BD not so much. I only see BK and DJ getting in from LIV. As long as BK is top 6 in points, he is in. If not, he should be a captains pick.Masters 2023
DJ T-48 BD cut
PGA
DJ T-55 BD T-4
LIV ranking
DJ 6 BD 28
Not sure why people keep throwing these 2 names around.
He is looking forward to RBC next month. I'm sure he will be rested and raring to go. I don't think he's full of himself. He's probably exhausted and not used to playing so much under pressure. He's been everywhere in the lead up to this week tournament. Not a great way to prepare for a tournament. On camera he said that his iron game, wedge game, play around the greens and putting are all world class. BK is a lock unless injured. Even if he slips out of the top 6. BD has a chance if he finishes top 10 again at the next major. No body wants to see Reed but he does have a good track record and he has been consistent at the majors this year.DJ has won 2 times on LIV (including the event prior to the PGA). Zach Johnson seems to be under some pressure from the heads of the golf tours/associations here if he goes the route of LIV guys. He is definitely tap dancing to keep all happy for now. Outside of BC, the media seems fine with some LIV players post this years Masters/PGA. Let’s just wait until after the USO and Open and see where they rank.
Take our. best 12 Americans.BK is a lock unless injured. Even if he slips out of the top 6. BD has a chance if he finishes top 10 again at the next major. No body wants to see Reed but he does have a good track record and he has been consistent at the majors this year.
ETA: I don’t the the PGA tour have issues with guys like BK. He joined LIV and is not talking negatively about the PGA. Phil and Sergio are different stories.
Captain's picks are just that. No guidelines. It will be obvious if the PGA put pressure on Zach to make certain picks.Take our. best 12 Americans.
I don’t care what tour they play on.
Even if they aren’t ranked can’t they be captains picks?
Phil would never be a pick with his putter.
Agree with you. The question is how do you judge the LIV guys. No cut and smaller fields is like comparing apples to oranges. That’s why the majors are so import for them.Take our. best 12 Americans.
