Will Rickie Fowler break the Par3 curse and win both the Par3 and Masters in the same week?

Horrible draw for Woods, even before this schedule push-back. Looks like they would have taken a little better care of an aging five-time champion.

Those three groups that tee off between 1:00 and 1:24 are stacked. Better than average odds the winner comes out of those groups.

You can't hide from "father time". I had concerns on whether he could walk this course for 2 days no matter the draw he got.

Late day tee times are usually a sign of a golfers appeal. They don't want everyone going home early because the popular golfers finish their rounds early in the day. Dustin, Koepka, Morikawa, Harman, Day and Spieth all tee off with Tiger or a little later.

In the case of this particular golfer, they just raised their chances considerably of doing without him entirely for the last two days of the tournament.

I don't think the odds of him playing the last two days were particularly good regardless of when he teed off. Tiger is done. He loves the Masters but coming out to walk those hills when he isn't playing competitive golf on any sort of regular basis is a tough thing to do. I predict he either misses the cut or withdraws after Friday if he does make the cut. I know he wants to set the consecutive cut record and I think he knows this may be his last chance to do that. If does miss the cut I won't be surprised if he doesn't play in 2025.

I harken back to Ben Hogan following his wreck. He had to go through an elaborate taping procedure to prepare to play. After some tournament organizers understood his particular issues, he started getting better tee times.

The draw wasn't the same back then because tournaments weren't as large, but special consideration was given after one or two organizers teed him off at 7:30 in the morning.

I'm only a fan and appreciator of Tiger as a golfer and due to his place in the game. I want to make that clear.

By definition, it's his _only_ chance to set the consecutive cut record, right?

So, what's the drawback of the late tee time for Woods today? Is the weather supposed to get worse through the day?

Yeah, when Hogan played tv wasn't a consideration and the crowds were miniscule compared to today so, like most things, money is driving the bus now. Tiger teeing off at 10:30 and finishing around 2:30 would mean a fair number of spectators would head home then and concession and shopping sales would suffer. Also, tv wouldn't be able to show as much live Tiger as they could if he is playing later in the day. They usually flip the tee times the next day so Tiger should tee off early tomorrow but I doubt he finishes the round today. He will have to finish today's round early tomorrow and then tee off for the second round, probably some time mid morning or early afternoon if I had to guess.

I'm not a Tiger fan, never have been. I dislike the way he curses, pouts and does his over the top celebrations on good shots. I think he has been a bad influence on young golfers as far as their behavior on the course. I also don't like the media's obsession with Tiger. I understand it but I don't like it. Either last year or year before at the Masters it was sickening the media attention of Tiger when he was far out of contention. I heard it described as "The Tiger Woods Show with special guest appearances by the tournament leaders". I do appreciate how good he was and I admire his focus and discipline.

LOL; yes, I guess it is his only chance. I meant I think he knows his playing days are very limited and there is a good chance he won't be able to play next year.

I guess since his ankle is his main problem playing early would be when he felt most rested. Weather is supposed to get better as the day goes on.

The Masters app is not updating the leaderboard, or hasn't any time I've checked today.

Ok now, is he really that old? I mean if he's "old," then that means I'm... nevermind
🤣, me also. His body has taken on some tough injuries. He has as many aches and pains as we do. Not to mention the level of play he needs to compete.
I will say he has started well so far.

Tiger was intense and had some outbursts but I think overall he comported himself well on the golf course. Many of his contemporaries and forebears in professional golf had far more volcanic and profane tempers - they just weren't on TV nearly as much as TW. So we're affected by the availability and recency biases from Tiger's prominence.

The young golfers I see on TOUR today manage their tempers as evenly as I've ever seen. I think some of this is driven by the fact that nearly every shot is televised now plus sports psychology learnings regarding the importance maintaining even keel

ESPN seems to be up and running fine.
I noticed.

I hope Scheffler renders this post comical. His talents are impressive and his achievements considerable. But some of the things he does on short putts do not bespeak a historically great player. I hope he can cure that open putter face on putts he doesn't have to really release.

Don’t want a LIV golfer to win the Title.
Anyone but Bryson. However he just gave up a double so there is that. Now 4 shots back. Have a feeling though Augusta will chose to leave this course alone or add a tad of water. I don’t think scoring will win it tomorrow. I’m banking on another grinding day with few birdies and bogeys will kill you.
