The Manalapan Diner used to be open 24/7 because we would go there occasionally after big, late night calls. I clearly remember about 7 of us eating there after midnight once everyone cleared from The Great 4th of July Rt 9 Cataclysm and Helicopter Rodeo(TM). Their last fire, somewhere around 2010ish, I think, shut them down for over a year and when they reopened it was part-time.

After that, the only place that we could score some grub in the middle of the night was the White Castle in Howell. I did it a few times, but it made for too much of an exciting ride if we happened to get toned out while we were 10 miles down Rt 9.

Very sad about Manalapan Diner. Used to go after nights out.

Wawa should have late night food though too.

I know they have milkshakes and definitely have burgers now. Confident they have mozzarella and marinara.
Yeah, but Wawa has no place to sit & eat. Part of the fun of those late late night diner runs was people watching. Seeing what other inebriated, banged up, clubbed out messes would show up, what other friends might stumble in, etc.

Plus attractive waitresses who may have made some poor life decisions and might be willing to make some more with you.

Sit no, but at least the closest Wawa to me when I would be home from college had lots of drunk and high people outside, standing as best they could lol.

So I didn't do it intentionally, but the thread title keeps reminding me of the lyric from Living In America:

"All night diners keep you awake"
