The new pope was selected faster than Sanders was in the draft. One good one I heard is that Chicago produced a pope before they ever produced a quarterback that passed for 4,000 yards.

Prevost was at the final game of the 2005 World Series, where CWS won. Nice. Also when he was six years old his next door neighbor went up to his parents and told them he was going to be pope some day.

Turns out his grandfather’s name was actually Giovanni Riggitano. He started using John Prevost around WWII. Probably to avoid persecution. He was from Sicily. So at least a little part of Italy remains in control. 😆
