As a diehard bengals fan. I knew we had zero chance at winning this game with mccaron at QB. Which brings me the question. It's the playoffs. You're a football player. I don't care how hurt your finger is you're letting your entire team down by not playing in this game. Your team played their asses off the entire season and you're going to sit out over a finger injury? Never would've Brett favre or Big Ben let an injury like this keep them out of the playoffs. Just never. Sometimes you gotta play hurt to gain respect from your team, a team that did everything they could to win for 16 games. Now its playoff time he's still not playing and pretty much just forfeited the entire season and quit on his team because he can't man up and play with a hurt finger. I just don't get it. Obviously we're not going to win this game without Dalton. He knows it. Everyone knows it. Just threw away an entire season over him being a big time wussy.

I'll never get over this one. This is the only football team I root for that's been good recently and I just hate losing in the first round every year and seeing Dalton quit on the team when we had the season we had, when we were prepared to make a deep run. No doubt we win this game with Dalton. And he knows it. We've played great defense and with that pass defense no doubt we win with Dalton. But he ain't man enough to play hurt. Just sick to my stomach over this one and all over a thumb.

You had zero chance to win because you are the Bengals, not because McCaron was QB. He wasnt the one that choked everything away.

You cannot blame your backup QB for this one, blame Hill and some bone headed penaltys on the Bengal Defense. It was evident that Big Ben could not throw over 15 yards on the last drive the Bengals should have taken away the underneith stuff and made him burn them with the deep ball.

Sorry, dont buy it...all the mistakes mccaron made were typical andy dalton type mistakes.and steelers wiulda run away w it if ben doesnt get hurt. Knobody knows for sure but dalton and drs but i think you are sorely underestimating the importance of a qbs thumb, on his throwing hand at that. If he cant grip the ball, he cant throw it acurately and qould be hurting his team by trying to play...theres plenty of reasons for a bengals fan to be pissed at the players and coaches, however, dalton does not deserve your anger.

You are blaming this loss on Dalton? You are as stupid as Burfict and Pacman Jones. How do you know how bad his broken thumb is? A J McCarron did not cost them the game, the stupidity of a few player did. It took AJ 3 quarters to get in a groove and he lead the Bengals to 16 straight points and had them in the position to win the game. He did not fumble the ball, Hill did.He did not get a personal foul called on him, Burfict and Jones did. Most of blame goes to the lack of discipline on the part of a few players and that falls at the feet of the head coach. Keep Dalton out of the equation as he had nothing to do with this loss.

Pretty sure Burfict and Jones are the one's that quit on the team. You'll still root for that abomination after last night ????

Agree. Joey Chestnut couldn't win a hot dog eating contest if he had a fever blister.....

I'm giving Jones a pass on this fiasco. Joey Porter should have been tossed out of the game and then fired for coming into the Bengals huddle. Inexcusable for a coach to act that way. He deserved much more than a light shove.

Burfict, on the other hand, should be put on waivers immediately. There's no place in the game for players like him.

Bengals had the game won. Fumble by Hill and then the 30 yards in unsportsmanlike penalties by Burfict/Jones cost them. Several "anonymous" Bengals plus Whitworth calling out the teams lack of discipline. That begins and ends with the head coach. Lewis needs to go, 0-7 in playoff games.

McCarron did enough to win the game, he got them the go ahead score. Then the Bungals get the INT and totally implode if you get the ball back you gotta finish that game. I was a bit annoyed with them continuing showing the big Ben hit over and over asking was it dirty and not talking more or equally about some of the Steelers questionable plays.
the Bengals blew it but did they ever say anything about why Porter the Steelers defensive coach was in the middle of the field during the Steelers final drive?

I am in. I guess I am disqualified from this conversation though because I am a Bengal fan and I feel they WERE in fact calls missed and made on/for Pittsburgh. I am done talking about it though, I cannot wait what the offseason brings.. I still have to debate if I can stomach Pro football anymore with the obvious crap direction it is going. (I didn't use the "s word" guys, proud of me...)

Yea, this game was over before it began, but it's a testament to the Bengal team playing this well without their QB, who was the second highest rated QB in football....
