I suppose Lisa Leslie could count. I should have clarified and said the Men's team. I'm going to go ahead and give you credit for this Buckin as I may not be around much this weekend.

John Stockton actually led the men's national team with 4 blocked shots during the 96 Olympics. But yes, Leslie led all US players in this category. You're up, Buckin!

Hey Sky, I didn't want to start a thread just to ask you this.....

On my facebook page I got a feed from WWE and it juggled my memory a little so I was wondering, is Don Kernodle still in your area?

I don't follow wrestling, but when I knew Don he and Sgt Slaughter were the tag team champions of the world. Early to mid 80's.

He visited Brown and Company regularly. Nice guy....

Not Carmelo. And just for clarification, I meant for all countries. This guy played in 5 different Olympics.

Oscar Schmidt of Brazil. Widely considered the best player to never play in the NBA. His son Bruno is currently on the #1 ranked men's beach volleyball team.

Correct. Oscar Schmidt combined to score 1,093 points in 5 different Olympics from 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, and 1996. He averaged an astonishing 28.8 ppg in 38 contests. For reference, Carmelo Anthony is the all-time leading scorer for the US, with 307 points, and this is his fourth Olympic team. Records are made to be broken, but I believe Oscar's Olympic scoring record will stand for a very long time!

You're up, dbav!

Also, as a professional basketball player, Oscar Schmidt accumulated 49,737 points during his career - which is significantly more than Kareem's 38,387 career points.

I honestly only knew that answer because I was watching beach volleyball and they talked about it for 5-10 minutes during Bruno's match. I should have saved the info on his son as a question, haha.

Soccer question again. I'll keep it simple since I know not too many people follow it. How many teams compete in the English Premier League each year?

Before 1980, the SEC only had one final four appearance outside of Kentucky. What school was it? And for extra credit, what NBA legend played on that team?

Not Dominique and UGA. Here's a little hint: It happened just a couple years after Kentucky's first national title.

So if you're doing the math, that means the SEC went essentially three decades without a FF representative not named Kentucky. Impressive stuff.

Serious reach, but I will say LSU and the great Bob Pettit

OFC

You got it, hart! Both answers are correct! 1953 was the year. The next SEC representative to make the FF outside of Kentucky was LSU again in 1981.

Crazy to think LSU has had the likes of Pettit, Maravich, and Shaq... and who knows, maybe Simmons will be another Hall of Famer.
