Of our 5 National Championship teams, there have been 6 players who started on opening day that didn't start in the Title game. Can you name those 6 players?

Does this question not interest anyone? I can add another question, if that would be more appealing.

A couple of small hints for anyone that still wants to take a stab at this. All five title teams had at least one player start the opening game that didn't start in the championship. Of the six players, 4 are bigs and 2 are wings. One player started the opener on two separate years, only to come off the bench in the title game.

Coached at UNCC and Purdue...His Boilermakers eliminated our Devils in the Elite 8 regional in 1980.....Prior to that he coached UNCC to a FF in '77. IIRC, he may have also done a stint at USF....

I hate to be a stickler, but 33 is actually the correct answer.

84-94: 11
96-17: 22
Total: 33

I think it's easy to look at 84-94 and subtract the difference and get 10. And do the same from 1996 to 2017, and get 21. But 1984-1994 is actually 11 years. And 1996-2017 is 22 years.

Example: 2012-2015 are the Quinn Cook years. The difference in numbers is 3, but it's actually 4 seasons (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015).

Side bar question that doesn't count but an interesting one. What former tar heel great just got arrested on Wrightsville Beach N.C. Now this could be a hard one so put on your thinking caps. OFC

Duke and UCLA are pretty obvious choices. Not sure about school #3.

I have doubts about team #3, but I will say Ohio State.

You're not talking about UConn women, are you? I'm not sure there's another men's program that has achieved that feat.
