Since it's 13 degrees out and I'm putting off taking out the garbage, any trips/vacations planned for 2025?

Anyone ever taken a trip to Poland? I don't speak the language well enough to try that on my own, but if I could find a group that's going that's something I'd consider.

In late March and April, I'll head to Florida to catch the Pirates open the season and start checking out apartments to avoid 13 degree days the rest of my life. Then of course in fall, there's always college football trips.

Any trips/vacations you have planned in 2025?

Ireland, Maine, France, South Carolina. Annual family cruise. Gearing up for Tokyo with the kids for the first time next year.

Poland is great - been a while but did a trip there with future wife and the highlight was the food. Pierogies, sausage, beer…wonderful! I’d maybe get to Germany and drive from there.

Heading skiing to Monarch in sw Colorado just some old guys in February
In mid April will go scuba diving for 2.5 weeks in Grand Cayman. After that who knows
I’d love to take the boat down to Cincinnati (160 nm by river) and maybe then to Louisville Ky.

I was just thinking about this.....some options for me

1. Caribbean getaway (maybe in next few weeks)
2. Golf trip/motorcycle trip to Montana in late summer (rent bike locally)
3. My annual "Jack Kerouac trip" on my bike - I take a week off from work, pack up my bike, and just go where the road takes me - no plans, no schedules.
4. Possible trip to Montreal for F1 in June.
5. Hoping to do an extended family week vacation at a lake house in July.
6. Outside chance of a rafting trip in Zimbabwe or Morocco or Chile/Argentina. My window of a physical vacation is slowly starting to close as I get older. So, would love to do something like this while I still can.

We will see what transpires....

edit.....hopefully, travel to see PSU play in CFP games.....🤞

Puerto Rico in June with with my family, my brother/sister in laws and my nieces and nephew. We're going to a part of the Island we've never been to before (Humacao). We've all been there several times because my wife's family is Puerto Rican but this will be new for us. We plan on going to and doing things we've never done on previous trips. Looking forward to it. This past year was a rough one for the LNB Family.

Going to Puerto Rico in March to visit our younger daughter. Plan on touring there and then to Adjuntas. Will be there for 6 nights so that will take up most of our time but will probably tour around Ponce. She sent us pics from the festival of San Sebastian this past week which looked pretty fun. Then heading to North Carolina for another 6 nights to check out Charlotte, Winston Salem and Raleigh where our other daughter lives.

Nothing crazy with two kids under 10 but the normal weeks at Cape May with the family and then a week down at Bethany. Wife’s sister recently moved to New Hampshire so instead of taking any other trips we’re going to explore New England on our way to visit her for a few days.

I'm excited to get over to Ponce for the first time. I want to check out the history. Enjoy. I know I can't wait.

New Hampshire (North Conway?) - never been in that state before. Washington state for photography. All NH suggestions are welcome.

Five day golf trip in Orlando in March, continuing from there on to San Diego for ten days for my Mom’s 98th birthday. Calabria for most of September, then on to Prague for three nights followed by a Danube cruise.

Enjoy hearing about (and being inspired by) others’ travels. In fact, the Poland mention has me trying to convince my wife into us going there for a couple of weeks in May — her father’s side of the family came from Krakow.

We were in Poland several years ago and really liked it. Very underrated place. We were mainly in Warsaw, Krakow, and Częstochowa. Pulled into town and were walking around when we saw crowds by the street. Next thing we know, the Pope was driving by. Would love to spend some more time there.

Hopefully Bardstown for the Kentucky Bourbon Fest in September. Summer, beach time in Cape May and lots of golf and lake time at our friends house right up the road. Perhaps a nice European river cruise in 26.
Relative to European river cruise. Might try Saga cruise line. It’s British. Adults only no kids, all included, no tipping involved! Price is what u pay. It was a Baltic Sea cruise left from Dover. They will send a car for you within 250 miles. So we stayed in Cambridge n they picked us up ! 998 Brits 2 Yanks. Sluggo Mrs Sluggo!!
Just check it out. Cabins etc were all first class. Good? Hey it British

Lake Winnipesaukee
An old neighborhood friend, who was the CEO of Welch’s before he retired, lives on Lake Winnepesaukie. Beautiful there.

Bob, I married a woman like that. It was like living with Lucille Ball.

Our stovetop had gas burners with the square tops that had four extensions over the flame. She would cook full-course meals in a very small kitchen and we had very little countertop space in our kitchen and each burner was in use. She had just rinsed spaghetti in a plastic colander and was looking around on where to set it down.

I had already set the table and was sitting watching her mind at work. She turned off one of the burners and set that pot on the table and then put the plastic colander on that burner she just turned off. I knew what was going to happen and just sat there waiting. Then she went to pick up the colander it was now melted attached to the burner extension and she had this puzzled look. I said to her, "What did you think was going to happen?" Her reply, "I turned the burner off." Yes, she was blonde.

Don't drive, if you can help it. We took a day tour last year. Amazing. Try Al Cancelletto in Amalfi. Really good seafood. It looks like a hole in the wall (not big), but it's clean, nice, and very good.
If we go it will be a trip offered through the alumni association. I assume they use busses to take you to places like Sorrento & Positano.

We travel quite a bit. I strongly recommend South Africa and Singapore (if you can take the heat).
