Anyone live in the area? Wondering what the local chatter is on this. Seems like a good idea, that Belmar Motor lodge is an eyesore.

What To Know About The New Vermella Belmar Complex
This is so true about Belmar. It's because they screw up the traffic light sequences. Sometimes the light is green for 35 for about ten seconds. No local chatter I'm aware of, but traffic on 35 between Asbury Park and the Wall Interchange of 70/34/35 is already horrific. Will get measurably worse. Had to go to the Midas place from Lakewood Road/35 heading north, and we could have walked faster as the traffic going into the Manasquan Circle was backed up past the McDonalds. Further north of the circle, it gets worse at rush hour, and if you have ever tried to go to Asbury Park in the evening via Route 35 to Memorial Drive, the traffic through Belmar is a mess.
The big thing here in OC is that ICONA wants to build a hotel on the site of Wonderland which he now owns. We do need a nice hotel in town but I know most of the folks in that neighborhood are pissed as I would be if I lived there. Lots of classic old homes in that neighborhood but not sure the traffic would be any worse compared to the amusement park that was there for 100 years and honestly the park is a bit of an eyesore right now. People have all these ideas that are not financially viable like open space or parks or whatever that would look great but isn't generating money for the guy that owns the propertyNo local chatter I'm aware of, but traffic on 35 between Asbury Park and the Wall Interchange of 70/34/35 is already horrific.
