The Bengals were rushing 3 and dropping 8. It obviously worked. Tyreek Hill is SO dangerous in space, and Kelce is still a big matchup problem, so 8 guys in coverage did the trick. Credit to the Bengals linemen for their motors. I thought Mahomes got frustrated a bit.
What is most amazing about that strategy is how well they contained Mahomes despite rushing 3. They didn't get a ton of pressure, but they also didn't leave huge lanes fro Mahomes to beat them with his feet like he did against Buffalo. And then Sam Hubbard played out of his mind as a big DE playing spy on Mahomes. Really just incredible effort.

Yes, the last couple series Mahomes definitely appeared frazzled and ultimately it cost them the game. It looked like he was trying to do too much himself when he should have been throwing it away, taking one sack and then a sack fumble which would’ve been game over if Cincy recovered, but still made a chip shot tying FG into a 44 yarder.

Put Hill in the backfield, put Kelce wide on the long side, and send that other tall receiver deep on the short side. Run a fake to Hill, cross Kelce short, and look for the deep route in single coverage.

Yesterday was awesome. We have become so invested in the Bengals run for Burrow (and to a much lesser extent Chase). I am petrified of the Rams DLine going up against Northwestern's, excuse me, Cincinnati's offensive line.

But Burrow has the Brady effect on his teams - losers become winners. Mahomes is probably more talented, but I'd take Burrow #1 any day.

We're at the point in life where the mf'ing Bengals can make the Super Bowl, but not the VIkings.

Actually, put Kelce in the slot on the short side, and drag across the middle. That might draw two defenders. Send the wide guy deep. Send Hill into the flat on the long side. That will draw at least 2 sets of eyes.

I realize that Joe Burrow and Chase are the headliners - and rightly so - but you nailed the difference in the game - that Cincy defense. They're young and getting better and better as the season goes along.

Hubbard and Hendrickson really get after it.

Is this “the touchdown play”?

Whatta game. Clinched the division. Nobody wants to play these guys. Burrow might have the best arm in the game.

If you're talking about arm strength, Allen, Herbert and a few others git Burrow beat, but Burrow has among the best accuracy and ability to throw to a spot.

Cowherd wasn't impressed by Burrow coming out of LSU bc he made the same mistake so many do in evaluating the position - over-emphasis on the physical attributes of playing the position and not enough attention paid to the mental aspects/processing abilities.

Burrow was already pretty polished as an NFL QB coming out of LSU; Mahomes still over-relies on his backyard ball abilities and still needs to learn to do the basics of NFL QBing.

32 years of pent up emotions unleashed!
Leaving with Mrs. GOUNUII for the game a week from today.

Rams are favored as they should be. Their DLM might be sack dancing the whole game. But damn. This Bengal team might just pull off another stunner. They seem to have it in them.

Who Dey!

I would make the Rams slight favorites based on home field but based on what I saw on the field last weekend, the Bengals have a very good shot. If the Bengals win, that would be the second year in a row a bad Bears team will have beaten the eventual Super Bowl champion.

Lucky guy!!

The one game I was stressed about was the Raiders game as we just had to win a damn playoff game. The next two, I was able to fake the attitude that it didn't matter if we won as this was just bonus. I don't know if I can do that again for the Super Bowl. I REALLY want the Bengals to finally win a Super Bowl!! On paper, the Rams should crush us.... but this team.....they're special.
