Your opinion. I think yours is ****** too. You shouldn’t need help to not drink and drive. He’s a grown man who’s done this before. If he kills someone, you can’t get that life back, not to mention the poor families of any potential victim(s).
As an aside, his latest homophobic slur sure makes him look like a pretty miserable person too.
Yeah I’m inclined to agree. It’s one thing to get drunk and embarrass yourself. He obviously has a major drinking problem. Addiction is no joke. But I don’t care how drunk he was though. Or how readily available Uber was. He makes more than enough money to make a quick call (even if he had to overpay) to arrange for a driver.
You make it seem like I gave him a free hall pass for his indiscretions, which I certainly dont condone. Did he make bad choices?. Absolutely. Does it seem like he needs intervention? Yes. You do realize successful intervention could help prevent the tragedies you mention, right? If you had a family member in the same predicament, would you wish them a long prison sentence as well?
I wouldn’t wish it for them, but I’d understand it. Intervention should have been happening a while ago…and he needs to take responsibility as well. It’s not always someone else’s responsibly to get him help. However, my opinion is two DUIs is enough. Can’t wait around for someone to die.
Also, and take it for what it’s worth, but lots of WVU fans have stated that the Morgantown area has “covered” for him on many occasions, suggesting this was an more common occurrence than some realize.
Nope sorry. When you make the salary he makes, there’s no reason to drink and drive period. A driver should be the default.

It’s a tough position for WVU and an interesting one for Rutgers IMO. Huggins recruits defense minded kids. It’s ironic because personality and lifestyle wise Pike and Huggs are polar opposites, but they seek the same attributes in players. And players choose WVU to play for a defense minded coach who is now gone. You’d think these kids will be looking for a different, more stable defense minded home. Let’s see what happens. I don’t care if Joe can’t shoot. I want him. He would help us a lot next season. Not that familiar with their other guys.

My first impression, just me no sources, is that this is about money and getting every cent of his contract paid in full.
Quiting might have gave WV an out to cheapskate paying him to leave , while not resigning claim will force WV to give him a generous buyout to go away if they can't provide written proof he quit or have a tape of the discussion where he resigned from his position as their HC

Wow, this whole story might require a lot of popcorn... It would be a pisser if WVU used this as a way to appease all the Huggins fans and gave Huggins his job back while saving face without appearing to cave on the subject by seeming to be forced into it... And with less resistance from the interim coach since he worked for Huggins previously and may be more easily placated with his old job back and a hefty raise... I know there's no way that would happen, but then again, it's West Virginia.

Going to be interesting. If Huggs says his wife spoke on his behalf without his knowledge (or misinterpreted his wishes) what can they say? The statement was made through her, correct?
The 20 day timeframe argument part seems weak at minimum. He’s in a lock down facility, right? If he’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing there he would not be focused on recanting a misstatement on his resignation at that time. He’d arguably be removing himself from everything related to the stresses of his life, including his job. Plus detox isn’t exactly a picnic. Again, can’t see how the expectation would be for him to have come forward sooner to dispute this.
