He really is the only experienced guy running a power 5 program we could get and its buzzworthy in the state

ASU tough job and doomed with move to Big 12
His NYC Metro area connections might help RU more then that helps ASU.
His record at ASU isn't outstanding, though a tough place to win, I would look for a up and coming mid major type HC instead of Bobby
Josh Schertz of St Louis is someone I think might be worth thinking about.

Agree- Josh Schertz would be head and shoulders above Bobby H.

As a point guard or Head Coach?
Can you make some more excuses for his 9 year mediocre record in the PAC-12? He has been in Big 12 for 1.5 years. He had been treading the waters of mediocrity in the PAC 12 since 2020-21.

And cry me a river for the Big 12.

His conference record is
83–106 (.439). Pike's in the B1G is
73–111 (.397).

Hard pass. Take his predecessor Herb Sendek over him, who has been doing well at Santa Clara. But would take neither over Pikiell next year with the buyout

The Hurley’s still have plenty of juice in MBB in the NE.

Bobby Hurley is well known locally and considered a winner by most CBB fans.

I think he’s an immediate upgrade over Pike and can generate strong recruiting results for us.
I call BS on considered a winner. Looks like a loser-guy took over a program that was not in terrible shape, and his record resembles Pikiell's which included 2 years of a major rebuild. It's quite pathetic how some of our "fans" make allowances for other coaches.

What are you f&%king talking about. Four of his seasons at ASU were 20-12, 23-11, 20-11,and 23-13. I don't think Pike had any of those seasons. You can say a lot about the Hurleys, but they are certainly not losers. ASU was also 82-80 the five years before Hurley took over - not exactly great. That "loser-guy" with his two national championship, NBA career, and Duke education wouldn't hyphenate "loser-guy"' either.

So in 2026, RU fans should be excited about Hurley, because he would bring a "buzz" to the program???

Would he have Bobby Hurley Sr sitting at some games?? Sure, that would generate some newspapers being sold....Oh wait, do people still buy newspapers??

Would hiring Hurley bring us more players, for free, or better Top 50 players, without having to have 10 to 15M in NIL?? If yes, sign me up today, maybe Hurley can donate his entire salary for the recruiting process of players and coach for free I guess......isnt that what Danny Hurley does up at UConn...he gets no money from the wealthy UCONN fans and that buzz, allows kids to be paid directly by Hurley to play there.....right, got it!! LOL
