Apparently the new Disney "Snow White" movie trailer on youtube has over 1 million thumbs down - while only having about 45K thumbs up.
It might be the most lopsided likes / dislikes ratio in Youtube history.

The comments section is so brutal someone made a song out of the comments. - Hope there's no investors in Disney here.

The chorus goes hard. Lol. "Mirror Mirror on the wall" - Ouch!

The lead actress is a liberal psycho, and Disney is dying with this chick employed.

Setting aside the politics and wokeness of the remake, it's sad how utterly lacking in creativity the writing has become at Disney (and to some extent, Hollywood in general). When was the last time they actually came up with something _NEW_? They bought the Star Wars franchise and rode it into the ground. They bought the Marvel franchise and rode it into the ground. Now, they decided to make a controversial remake of one of the most beloved and influential animated movies of all time. They are so lazy.

It's not lazy. Everything you said is 100% by design.

I think they're trying to balance a walking back of DEI on the corporate side by doubling down on wokeness on the creative side.

I think the current Disney has demonstrated they will buy anything, good or bad, woke or not, and even creative or not and are still relying on the Disney name that Walt built to carry them through poor corporate decisions.

The present generation and the one before it have never seen the Disney that was. All they know is the parks and the company's contemporary entertainment offerings. Had they grown up with the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday evenings, or Spin and Marty, or Daniel Boone, or the guys had formed a crush on Annette, they'd understand what has been lost and the extent to which they are being short-changed.

Weigel Broadcasting, which owns the MeTV network and 8 other national networks, launched MeTV Toons last June. This network shows classic cartoons from Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbera, Harveytoons, etc. from the past 90 years. It's somewhat comparable to the Cartoon Network, except it's an over-the-air network.

Of course, they don't have access to the Disney stuff (I can't imagine ABC licensing it out to anybody).

Still, if you want to see some classic cartoons and expose younger generations to it, it's available over-the-air via affiliates with coverage in SC in Columbia, Savannah, Greenville, Charlotte, and Myrtle Beach. No affiliates (yet?) in Charleston and Augusta.

If you don't live within the signal range of an affiliate (or don't have a decent TV antenna), Toons is also available in the lineups of the Frndly and Philo streaming services.

The past two generations don't even know who Daniel Boone is. I'm being serious.
