Anyone get spinal anesthesia before?
Jacked up my hip and had to get a new one. Offered me spinal or general. What a whacky experience. Felt myself going out after a couple injections. Weird feeling. Never had either before.

If you have a choice between the 2, always choose the spinal. Way, way less opportunity for anesthesia complications. My 89 y/o mom is having a new hip places on 12/5. Spinal is the only anesthesia that is being offered.

In my days of running hockey leagues, there was once a ref who started doing crunches on the ice during play out of boredom during a low level adult game he was reffing. When the players confronted him about it, he said he had just gotten a colonoscopy and the doctor told him he needed to do crunches every half hour. As the league director, I took the complaint to some higher-ups that assigned the refs to games, and it made it up to a vice president of USA Hockey's Atlantic District. Normally he was a very cordial and mild-mannered older gentleman, but to this one he said, "It's too bad I wasn't at that game, otherwise I would have asked him if he just got a colonoscopy, why is he so full of ****?"
