I'd actually say that the sales of WNBA teams suggest that they're now making money. (Bearing in mind that most sports team owners find ways to claim they lose money, but nevertheless sell their teams for higher and higher prices.)

The WNBA bleeds money. They only survive because the NBA subsidizes the league.

I would be curious where you found that information. From what I can find, the WNBA has its own TV contract, for instance, and doesn't get money from the NBA TV contract. As an aside, 14 NBA teams lost money in 2016 (at least in accounting terms).
