He's kind of a short guy in person .

Jon Snow next to Sansa and Brienne

In fairness, the two ladies are in heels, and Brienne is just super huge. Sansa is pretty tall. That said though, he is only 5'8.

He looks like he should be in the cast of the Big Bang Theory in that pic rather than the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

One of my favorite characters in the show. Glad they picked him, he plays the role incredibly well.

That's what I'm saying. Very debatable, if you've heard of that certain fan theory, and read the books.
I haven't read the books, nor do I know the fan theories. I've only watched the show.

So what's the lowdown with JS character is Eddard Starke not the dad? Any clue who his mom is?

This thread raised a lot of questions in my head, which I thought I had figured out.

Rhaegar and Lyanna is one of the most popular theories. Makes the most sense to me. We don't know for sure though.

Lyanna Stark, Ned's sister, and dad is Rhaegar Targaryen.

All speculation at this point, but very, very widely accepted.

An incredible show, probably as good a production value of any show on television.
Last nights episode was terrific.

He's grown into the role, although I think that initially he was one of the weakest talents in the cast. Lucky for him that his character was so central to the show, or I think he would have been replaced.

Anyway, to put things in perspective, the actress who plays Brienne is 6'3" (without heels), and Sophie Turner (Sansa) is 5'9".

WOW... Now my minds blown, but it makes sense

Yeah. If it's true, that would make him the rightful heir to the throne (which I could see). People believe that's why Eddard Stark never actually calls Jon Snow his son, but instead, calls him his blood. He addresses his other children as his children. I think in the books, Lyanna Stark is abducted by Rhaegar Targaryan (the prince at the time), and was supposedly raped and held in the tower of joy. Robert Baratheron (King Robert in the show) started the rebellion to get her back, and after Aeris Targaryan II is killed by Jaime Lanniser, and Ned arrives and so on, Robert sends the armies to kill all of the Targaryan children and other family members. The tower of joy was the last place they checked, and they found 3 of the king's guards there, battle ensued, only Ned Stark and Howland Reed (a bannerman) remained alive. Ned reaches Lyanna, finds her dying (bleeding out, from what is unknown, but it's possibly child birth) and her last words to Ned Stark are "Promise me, Ned.", to which he promised to fulfill. What he promised to her is unknown, but many believe that the promise is that he will take an infant Jon Snow home with him, claim him, and raise him as his own so Robert does not have the baby killed (because he would be a Targaryan baby).
Other things that might support that is just how honorable Ned was (to the point that it got him killed). A lot of people find it hard to believe that Ned would actually cheat on his wife. That's essentially what it is.

Dangit mods, you sent my thread to the nether. Why would you do that? It was a good thread.

Mods - time to nuke this faux GoT thread that was moved over. We have our own. And it doesn't have spoilers that people are trying to pass off as their own predictions.

Or it might just get merged with your thread and more people will see spoilers. Are you overlord of the Paddock or something? Jeez guy.

Your funeral dude. Many Raftards have tried to come over but few succeed. It's clear you don't have what it takes.

Well by the time I get bored of posting over here, I will have accomplished what I'm setting out to do now if you find me insufferable at that time.

LOL. You Raftards are all the same. You will be gone in two days tops.

There's a bet that you're going to lose.
Nice making your acquaintance though, we're going to be terrific friends, even if your introduction to me is..

Get comfortable.

What would that make Robert Baratheon's bastard (Gendry) who we haven't seen since season 3? Will he have a final say in being an heir to the Iron Throne?

Also -- remember a few episodes back when Cersei visited that scientist-like guy in King's Landing (whose name is escaping me at this point) and he had what appeared to be a body moving under a sheet? Wonder what (or who) that will turn out to be...

I agree as well. Personally I think Tyrion will be the link between Jon and Dany eventually siding. Tyrion is speculated by many (including myself) as being part Targ as well.

Is this the three headed dragon? We'll see.

'wasn't it The Mountain under the sheet?'

Yes..... he is being 'treated' by Cersei's 'mad scientist' ....will come back, but he will be 'different'.

IIRC, The Mountain comes back as Ser Robert Strong, who never takes his helmet off but is the only person as big as the mountain was. I believe he is assigned to the Kingsguard as well.

Always thought that made a lot of sense. Feel like we're heading toward the dragons, led by Dany, Jon, and Tyrion, taking out the white walkers.

In the books it is. He should be making an appearance in the next couple of episodes, if I had to guess.

Potentially. I think we can all assume that Jon Snow is going to live through that little inconvenience. Curious to see what he does after that. Does he reconnect with Theon and Sansa, who may then go on to reconnect with the other Stark children (some of whom now have some magical powers and whatnot), or does he eventually connect with Dany and Tyrion?
Part of me thinks it will be the former, Jon Snow will find out who his actual parents are, and then the Starks (led by Jon.. Targaryen-Stark?) with an army of newly found wildlings and potentially some Night's Watch defectors, and the Targaryens (led by Dany), with an army of unsullied, go to war for the throne.

Exactly. I feel like the probability is high that it is The Mountain in the book and in the show. Just have this gut feeling, tough to explain

'That from the books or did I miss this in the show?'

....a little bit of both. Early this season Cersei was asking the man that is treating him if he would be 'weakened'. He assured her that he would not be. I have a co-worker that has read the books that gives me some info... The Mountain is supposedly going to be back in some kind of 'Frankenstein' kind of way.

They actually show in the show that Qyburn uses a king sized sheet, which again makes you think the man underneath it is probably quite large. I think this is more evidence that it is probably The Mountain under that sheet.

So you're saying it's probably definitely a high probability that you have a gut feeling it's probably The Mountain under that sheet, but you're not positive yet? Got it.

So you don't think it's The Mountain? Sell me on your theory.

I haven't read the books, so I was just asking others' thoughts since I remembered that scene earlier in the season. It sounds like your gut feeling probably definitely has a high probability of being true.

That isn't much of a theory.

I'm sticking with my belief that it's likely The Mountain.

I'm curious about Bran stark. He is a warg and instead of the ability to see and act through one spirit animal, he can warg into other humans and animals. Will he warg into one of the dragons? Will he warg into one of the key players from the different factions?

His ability is obviously going to come into play at some point in a key way.

I'm pretty sure it's the mount under the sheets. After he defeated the dornish guy, he was wounded badly and the scientist told Cersei he could save him. So that's what he's trying to do.

At least that's how my roommate explained it.
