GoodrX is great. If you check, even they have a range of $37 @ Kroger to $163 @ Walgreens. I always check there for my meds.Quite a savings.

Your sure welcome brotherNot to me. I agree 1,000%. Thank you. God Bless.
@Cowtown Cat , @flacat22, we never got a chance to find out. We lost both earlier this year, but found out about CBD just a couple of months ago. My wife uses it now for her Golfer’s Elbow. Do some research, it’s absolutely legit and all natural from the Hemp plant.
Southern States Salmon and White Fish grain free dog food. We don't give him any grains whatsoever. What do you feed him? There are certain diets that reduce seizures in humans. Mihht work with dogs.

Fair enough. Fwiw, I admit harping on the spelling thing was *******-ish of me. But that sort of thing can just grate on me at times, so occasionally I choose to be an ******* and point it out.
As for the other thing, I am genuinely curious. It seems utterly illogical to me, given what I know of the body, but I don't discount that it might be true.
What an ******* post.
So sorry to hear about the issues with your fur baby. Hopefully you’re connected to a top quality vet, and sounds like you are. I guess it comes down to quality of life. If the dog still has a good quality of life overall, then keep up with the meds and treatments. But at some point you and your family will have a tough decision to make. We had to make that two summers ago. Absolutely ripped our hearts out. But a broken leg on a 15 year old dog with mobility issues already. We had to let her go.![]()
Depends on who you ask. Seizures are very painful for dogs. My father in law would put a dog down by shotgun over issues like that. He believed it was far more humane than putting them through it for selfish reasons.
He was a 30 year marine. Master sergeant. A dog was a dog to him. I get it, today people consider them more important than children.
Plus Cowtown is my boy on here so figured I’d give him a laugh. He didn’t like the post tho so...
People and dogs man. It’s totally out of control imo.
It’s always tough but you did the right thing. I lost nearly 40 pounds when I had to put down my last dog. Thought I’d never get another but I had to get one.Put my good boy (15 yr old lab) down yesterday morning. It absolutely broke our hearts (still does). My wife and I were holding each other and sobbing like children in the parking lot afterwards. Rough stuff, man. His back legs had given out. He could get around with pain and difficulty, but sometimes he would fall and couldn't get himself up without help. Quality of life was poor. They say better to euthanize 1 day too early than 1 day too late.
I'm just glad we got to spend another day together after the vet suggested that it was time (and we knew too in our guts). Got him some ice cream, picked him up and put him on the bed his last night so the whole family could love on him. Got up the morning of and cooked him bacon. Kids took it hard, but not as hard as the wife and me.
It's my opinion that your opinion is ****. I know you're a jokey poster, but you might need to sit this one out, dude.
You probably caught me on the wrong day since I just watched the light go out of my best friend's eyes 30 hours ago, but people can still be sad and heartbroken over the loss of their pet while still understanding that they're animals and not humans.
I'm a 40 yr old man who has cried like a baby several times the last two days because I miss the only dog I've owned in my adult life, so spare me your suggestions on what people should and shouldn't do or feel...even if you're only half serious.
Yea I’m about half serious.
I think people take the animal love too far.
After your first dog as a kid, it shouldn’t tear people up the way it does some.
Being upset for a day or two I get. Acting like a family member has died is insane. Some people need perspective.
Sorry about your dog. Not meaning it as a slight toward how you feel about it. I’m a golden retriever guy. Always a rough one when they pass.
Appreciate that. I think you're post just struck a nerve. I have kids so I'm definitely not one of those childless pet owners who treats animals like children or would ask for his ashes to be returned to us in an urn...although I don't judge folks for doing it if they want.
Still tough to have a heartbeat in your house for 15 years and not consider them part of the family.
Well, except my wife's cats. They could both die tomorrow, and I wouldn't shed a single tear :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

Damn man, sorry to hear that. We had to put our boxer down last summer, she had cancer. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do.Put my good boy (15 yr old lab) down yesterday morning. It absolutely broke our hearts (still does). My wife and I were holding each other and sobbing like children in the parking lot afterwards. Rough stuff, man. His back legs had given out. Well in male dogs I'm guessing testosterone would be the big player here.
I knew you were kidding but like me, sometimes jokes are said at the wrong time.I swear I love dogs so before I’m called a Devil, here’s a picture of my new Golden Pyrenees. I’ve got another English Cream Golden Retriever but he’s in my bed. Lazy AF. No Michael Vick torture chambers.
she’s already a swimmer!!

Some of we amateurs have had a lot of experience with canine epilepsy.Find a good vet and drop us amateurs.
Perhaps, but the question is who.
This fairly technical article also reports some success with a ketogenic diet but the mechanism isn't understood.Southern States Salmon and White Fish grain free dog food. We don't give him any grains whatsoever.
Another big issue is finding a safe flea and tick treatment. We've always gave him NexGard, but recently discovered it isn't safe for epileptic dogs. Needless to say, we don't be giving it to him anymore. We would only give it to him like once every three months, though. I firmly do not believe it's needed once every thirty days, like they recommend. We're looking for a safe alternative for flea and tick prevention. If anyone knows a safe remedy that works, please share.
I guess you'd need to explain their actions further.Anyone who acts like they’ve lost a child when they’ve lost a dog. I know many. It’s completely asinine. Love my dogs man but it’s getting just a tad overboard in America.
I’m not judging the poster OR your father in law. I’m judging the post. This ain’t Ol’ Yeller anymore and these ain’t farm dogs. He came asking for help in a time of need (that currently I’m sharing) and you made a dick post. Period.
Hey, I thought he was f’n crazy for it. But he’s old school af.
He ran over a mixed breed on his tractor and grabbed his shotgun, told us he was putting it down. I thought he was joking, it was the thirdl or fourth time I had met him. Sob came up From the back part of his land with the dog on the back of his four wheeler like a damn deer.
I guess you'd need to explain their actions further.
There’s a huge difference between “mortally wounded” and ill.
He ran over a mixed breed on his tractor
Mods please ban for racism. We dont need talk like this here. TIA
You know im breaking your balls morg, I see your point, but I cried like a 12 yr old girl when my pug passed.
